In-game leaderboards / statistics

Is there any possibility to get some sort of PVP-based leaderboards in the game? I'm not after any rewards what so ever, it would be nice to have some sort of ranking system in PVP. If not ranking system, atleast have somewhere that statistics of ones 1 vs 1 fights or general pvp matches has fared....


Basic data like:

- Who faught who
- Who won
- Time in match
- Kills / deaths

If there was a ranking system, let the leaderboard be reset every week, or month.

I'm not asking for anything else but having the chance for someone to have some fame and glory within the pvp community. But if cryptic wants, they could reward the top 3 on that list every week, or every month with a small token for their PVP efforts.

    I just wish I could see how I am doing over time. It's also fun to have those post match accolades handed out like in halo. Wish the game would reward you with kill streaks or something like that if only to make my epeen tingle

    I'm afraid that http://hilbertguide.com/leaderboard/ will be the closest thing you can get in the foreseeable future. History has taught us that the only pvp improvements we receive are the ones we implement ourselves.

    Hilbert's leaderboard is the closest you are going to get.

    Also, you scored a few nice kills on me the other night, gg! ;)

    Ah the joys of being the only visible ship on a team with no healers. :P

    oh? Yes, we did fight the sad pandas at one time... i remember us loosing 15/7 or something i think it was...:P


    It was clear that you were a tad bit more organized as a team than us... :)

    The sad reality of leaderboards in general (and yes I do use and upload to the hilbertboard) is that you get people that will game the numbers as much as possible.

    Those that wont report bad games, those that dont report at all, those that only report matches they themselves did very well in, etc.

    I agree a developer/game based board would be ideal, but even then youd find people trying to game the system cause of "muh numbers"

    I use the leaderboard as a gauge of how well im doing day to day week to week. Id hope others do the same, but its obvious a lot of the time that certain people are obsessed with being "number one" constantly, and build/play specifically to inflate the number.

    Hilbert has done us a good service, really he has, but unless it was completely controlled dev side and checks put in place (which is likely well beyond the scope of any pvp love they will ever give us), we only have the partial one that is subject to whatever flaws may come with it.




    Also, unrelated to hilberts, leaderboards in other games tend to become breeding grounds for hyperelitism in PvP. Youll see things like "youre not a top 100 player, you cant group with us, and the like". Do you really want that to infect STO? Thus far it hasnt.

    Just a little, to be honest, we didn't really think about the team beforehand - which is why we had 4 cloaked ships, no healers and 1 guy playing the thankless job of eating your team's subnucs and alphas repeatedly. :P

    Prematch convo "Ulti, if you're in a visible ship, you're probably going to be screwed".

    It was a good match though, refreshing.

    You guys played some good clean PvP, and I don't mind having to hit the respawn button a few times when that's the case.

    *shudder* Nothing would turn me off faster to STO PvP than that.
