The only other thread I found about this was very old and archived so I am starting a new one.
It's all been said before - the 2 hour timer is a huge pain in the butt. I ended up getting the set (600 Lobi) specifically to have access to the doff mission. I can understand the 20 hour timer on the mission itself, but the "2 hours" on the set timer makes me really regret dropping all that lobi on the set. Sorry, the set just isn't very good. It does minimal DPS, even when I had a build dedicated to mine damage.
It has been about 29 days (I am not exaggerating) and the "2 hour" timer still hasn't reset (currently sitting at 47 minutes). I simply do not play the character all that much and as I said, I have since replaced the gear with something better.
Please seriously consider making this change. If things stay this way, I might as well consider that lobi deleted and the gear will just collect dust in my bank.
No, I am not who you think I am. I am someone different. I am instead a banana.
The problem is, that you have to be logged in and in space in order for the timer to change. It would really help if it (and all the other timers) would continue to tick down, when the character is logged out or on a ground map.
That timer is a pain in the lobes but I get around it by leaving my toon logged in when I'm not playing. The AFK timer kicks me out after an hour so I need to do this twice to finish the timer.
Now if Cryptic would just let the timer count down without having to be logged in AND in space I wouldn't have to spend those 2 hours idling on their server.
Even worse? You have to be logged in with that ship.
Main reason I almost never use my Tuffli's security officer - having to sit around space for 2 hours in a freighter isn't exactly my cup of tea...
And since the freighters are T1 equivalents in a game that'll scale the enemies to T5/L50 when I go "exploring", I can't even spend that time poking around the colonial clusters doing those exploration missions "safely"... And of course, if I decide to "go ground" to avoid the scaling issue, the timer doesn't count down...
Topping that off, slotting a purple Transwarp Cooldown DOff cuts my transwarp cooldown to 4 min, which is more than enough time to slot all my missions for a sector. At least that helps my cooldown usage "some" - I can easily spend 1/2 an hour jumping to a half dozen or so nebulas hitting up those missions...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

Mine has been on CD since the first time I used it back around 2012. 2 hours my TRIBBLE. At the rate it presently counts down, I will be able to use it again sometime in the year 3709.
