I know there are some out there, seen them fly by and all so I am looking to join one. Level 49, shortly 50, Romulan Tactical officer following the federation storyline.
Im looking for friends and people to do multiplayers with but on a casual basis, not on a religious basis.
I'll keep this pretty short and say if you have the time to check out Starfleet Task Force 1. If it seems like the sort of fleet your looking for you are more than welcome to join. If you have any questions i'm more than happy to answer. We have guys from all over, England, Ireland, US, Canada etc. They are a great bunch of guys and extremely helpful. The Fleet is about 7 months old and we have a second Fed Fleet which is just starting so you could have your choice of which one you want to join. We also have a KDF Fleet, The House of Martok. Anyway, hope to hear back from you and if you want to catch me in game i'm Winters@winters83 or Mar'tok@winters83

Stonewall Fleet > http://fleet.stonewallgaming.net/ < Fairly big gaming community who are non judgmental, have no requirements other than you have fun.
Just go to the channel with the command /channel_join StonewallFleet and have a natter to the folks who are on and you can see if it's suited for you.
We are a Level 16 Fleet of TRIBBLE, TRIBBLE, Bi-sexual, Transgendered & Straight-Ally Trekkers/gamers, with a Tier IV Starbase, a completed Tier III Romulan Embassy and Tier III Dilithium Mine, and our newest holding, a Tier III Fleet Spire. We're a friendly & welcoming fleet that has been around for the last two years, and going strong! We provide a friendly & safe haven for GLBTQ STO members & our straight friends & allies...we don't ask, but you're welcome to tell. If you're interested in joining us, we'd love to have you come along as you go "Star Trekkin' Across the Universe!"
We have membership scattered across the globe - and the quadrants - and our members speak many different languages, although English is the primary. If you'd like to join us, feel free to contact any Senior Officer in our fleet to request an invite.
Seriously, i never understood why people feel the need for these special interest groups.
Just join any fleet.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Discrimination. Pure and simple. Though they're the ones doing the discrimination.
It's one thing to look for a LGBT friendly fleet - nobody wants to join a fleet where they might be harassed...but to join a fleet that excludes folks...it's discrimination, no better than any other.
edit: There are fleets out there that are open - they don't care & they don't discriminate - everybody gets along and those that don't get along move along.
Yeah, why would anyone want to hang out with people who share similar interests? /s
Oh so you automatically share the same interests as someone of the same sexual orientation.
I like art and you like art too then you must be a non-homosexual like me.
I like online gaming... and so forth.
I seriously hope you see just how ignorant that statement is.
Frankly, the only reason i can imagine why LGBT people choose to hang out is because they don't want to be harassed and even then i believe these special interest groups only serve to widen the ghasm.
Sadly there will always be bigotry, but if you want to be accepted then don't hide away.

Oh! You have TRIBBLE friends! Why didn't you say so in the first place? I retract my earlier statement. You're right. You should probably tell your TRIBBLE friends to stop hanging out with one other. Since there's no reason why they would want to. In fact, they're only hurting themselves by doing so. Don't they want to be accepted? Silly gays. Why aren't they listening to you?
I'm a straight male, with many many TRIBBLE and trans friends, and even I know a LGBT fleet/guild just makes sense.
No much common ground with them will put me on a understanding with accepts of their lives that only other TRIBBLE/trans will get.
Personally I love LGBT friendly groups in gaming some of the most friendly TS and Vent channels I've ever been in.
Some times people just want to play with people that have gone though the same real life hurdles that they have.
And saying that there's no need for a fleet like that shows a closed minded view that really needs to be self evaluated
I would say the absolute opposite: Those who advocate LGB rights should realize that their polarization is actually hurting their "cause".
Staying in your own little circle closes your eyes to the world around you and ultimately hurts you. Joining a group with similar interests is fine, but to choose a group on sexual preference is misguided at best.

I'm sure OP appreciates being told he's facilitating his own discrimination by wanting to join a LGBT fleet. Maybe you're exactly the kind of person he's trying to avoid.

Sometimes you have to call a spade a spade.
If urging someone to realize that his/her actions have the opposite effect of what they try to achieve is a sin then by all means call me a sinner.
Despite of what you're implying i am not a bigot, nor do i have a problem with LGB.
However i DO have issues with their archaic world view. Let's stick together with our LGB companions because they are the only ones who can understand us and with whom we can feel safe.
That polarizing view is what is causing the problems in the first place.

LGBTQ groups do not necessarily "exclude" straight & cis people. Lots of them are happy to have heterosexual, cisgendered allies joining in.
Sometimes you just don't want to expose yourself to an environment that's toxic, even without meaning to - homo- & transphobic as well as sexist slurs are especially prevalent in the (online) gaming community. That's not an insult to you, your opinion or anyone you know, it's a fact.
Personal interests will always bleed through in an RPG, even if you're not roleplaying, and gender identity and sexuality are a pretty damn huge personal interest. And society still makes a huge fuss about non-heterosexual relationships or transgender individuals (e.g. straight actor/actress gets married for the umpteenth time gets a "so what?"; actor/actress comes out as TRIBBLE, let alone trans gets a "omg, let's keep reporting about this forever!"). Sometimes the appeal of LGBTQ(-friendly) Fleets/Clans/Guilds simply is that you don't have to worry about people reacting to you not being "normal" - because being different is normal.
We all just wanna feel normal and we feel most normal when we don't have to explain ourselves or feel that we have to explicitly state our sexuality or gender because it deviates from the majority of the people around us. A LGBTQ-friendly fleet can make people feel more at ease with their fleet mates because their a basic level of understanding.
When the majority of society stops assuming people are straight until they come out as TRIBBLE or asexual (in non-LGBTQ specific settings where one may assume the other way around) we may not need LGBTQ fleets anymore for people to feel comfortable in gaming. But that sure is a couple of decades away.

^ This right here. I think that hits home the point right.
Before joining the Tal'Diann, I was part of the leadership group in a big PvE / PvP fleet. There were a lot of times I had to kick players for having racist names, for writing bigoted statements in chat, and the like... It just happens, even in a Trek MMO.
And for sure, slurs of all types are rampant in the MMO community. I had to take a fair share of players aside and remind them - whether it was a slur on LGBTQ community, a slur on race, a slur on religion, or anything else - that they needed to take a second to think about what they were actually typing.
So yeah, for sure I can understand someone wanting to join a fleet that is explicitly accepting of their community. It's an automatic guarantee that they won't be marginalized, and that they won't be exposed to hateful language - even if it's unintentional. There's nothing wrong with wanting to play a game and have a safe space at the same time.
The Tal'Diann is a safe space, if the OP hasn't already found a welcoming fleet. We're too busy RPing Romulans and Remans to ever even consider marginalizing someone's real-life identity

Well....there is much to say here.
I understand who said that this kind of segregation is a discrimination too but I also understand who said that they want to join LGBTQ fleet because they don't want to worry about reactions.

First of all, what does that have to do with anything.
As it happens I'm not homosexual, but i have friends and colleagues who are.
Heck, sometimes i think I'm the only straight man in the lot.
