It's because the Exchange has a price cap of 500M. As the price of the Bug has climbed to over 500M, they can no longer be sold on the Exchange.

They've been over 500 Mill for a while now, I've seen more requests for JHAS trades in ESD and Qo'Nos cos of the price. Still I will continue to save for one and hope that if they do an event that I can get one to drop.

You do know they can easily copy ships to redshirt or tribble and delete them there right?

Well it would be nice if Cryptic took an active interest in stopping certain fleets from doing that, However I dunno I try to be optimistic about such things doesn't always work sadly

Not that I condone what Starfleet Dental do (in regards to this, and in general), but this actually plays into Cryptic's hands. Besides, intervening would set a precedent, and technically SFD haven't done anything wrong.

Technically you are correct yes, it is a player driven economy and as such players can affect whatever way they deem ok themselves. However deleting a metric ton of JHAS's and driving up the price is very unsportmanship like. You wouldn't go to a supermarket and buy up all the milk so no one else could get any would you? In effect thats what happens when you delete them.

The Supermarket doesn't let you do that so neither should Cryptic really but you are correct it does play into their hands and makes them more money. I'll just play a waiting game and when they do another even via boxes or packs I'll open them when everyone else is and see how my luck goes.

It's sad really the casual gamer can get screwed over now so easily I mean how often do you get a chance to play when you work all the time and only can come one for what 2-3 hours a night maybe (and thats even if your lucky if you had kids that time would be even shorter).

I just hope the new management try to stop griefers in some fashion it would be nice for us normal folk who want to chill and play with friends.

People who spend that much EC on a JHAS deserve to be parted with their money, since it's pretty clear they have no financial sense to begin with. It's a luxury item, an expensive novelty. Eventually the novelty wears off and you recognize that 500m+ ECs could have been better spent elsewhere.

To all the players who do not have a JHAS. You should know that the JHAS is not the end-all, be-all of Escorts. To have one for the Dread pet unlock is nice, granted. But the Breen Raider hits harder and can run A2B and has a flanking bonus. I have tested both ships with multipe configurations of gear and the Raider just out damages the JHAS. Even with only having 4 Tac consoles. As tanking goes the JHAS is a little better but what the Raider lacks in defence it makes up for in offence. As far as Romulans go they have Escorts that out preform the JHAS hands down. Point is, it is a great ship but it is not the best Escort in the game by any means.

As I said, technically. Yes, it is unsporting, but it's not illegal - which is practically SFD's modus operandi.

What you're asking Cryptic to do is start regulating who can buy what based on something other than their available funds. That sets a dangerous precedent. For starters, what about fleets buying up JHAS's (or any other lockbox/promotional ship, for that matter) to use for themselves and their members?

What does anyone care who has or deserves what ship? Glad I got the Galor when I did. I mean, I'm not worthy of it, of course....somehow. But I'll do my best.

    Raider has 5 Tac consoles...

This would be impossible. How would you even do this? What are you going to do, restrict the number of items of a given type a player can buy per day? What's going to stop them from simply moving their money to another toon or account and buying it anyway? The very proposal is infeasible, not to mention insulting.

Yea any regulation is impossible and I agree 500Mill EC for a ship is nuts, its a good ship and the only reason I want it is because I already have one and it's my pet lol I know the ship and I like it but it's a luxury alright xD

I know it's far from the best ship it's just my preference really.

well to they always say they consider this a free2play-game and therefore run reruns on FE or re drop all lock boxes

also re run JHAS events... and becasue there are none on exchange its time for one

I'm in the same boat as other JHAS sellers, that 500m ec cap on the exchange is way too low, so I have to use the in game trading channel which is a limited audience. :(
I know some think 500m is too high, others feel differently for something this sought after and rare, for them it will be well worth the cost.

bull. even on the limit the bug ship can be sold. why on earth wouldnt you want to sell a bug ship for? some people have a strange idea of price limits and supplying the man his needs.

There is already way too much JHAS in game already, I am glad the last doff promotion gave away a different ship instead. JHAS is supposed to be very rare. I won't mind if it takes awhile for the JHAS to come back or if it doesn't at all.

It's irrelevant what SFD did to those ships, whether they delete them or open them it doesn't matter, the lockbox is gone either way. To make a video like that reeks of trying too hard to upset people... seems like these fellows need some attention from mother, or something.

Seems a waste to just delete them like that, when you could open one on each toon and unlock the pets should you decide to use the Carrier, but to each their own. The price of the ship is where it should be; the ship is supposed to be rare, but it clearly isn't when one can go into ESD and see several of them flying around.

If you look closely, they put the Starfleet logo over the Swastika on the TRIBBLE Eagle. Seems to be some skin head underhanded nonsense going on in that fleet.

They need to make a 20 hour window where people can claim as many as they want from the store for free, just to offset this. Just a giant bugship bubble. They'd make so much cash from people buying character and inventory and bank slots to hold them all.

JHAS rarity is just because Cryptic realized the ship was their golden egg, it should not be more rare that a Tholian Recluse or a Wells Temporal ship, all should be rare ships to begin with.

I thought it had something to do with that CBS man up top demanding rarity.

I have to agree, more or less, with the sentiment expressed in these posts. Whether or not the JHAS is the best escort in the game, IMO it's certainly not the best ship in the game. I have a JHAS on my main and rarely ever fly it.

In PvP you're better off with a cruiser or science ship or carrier. In PvE the JHAS's biggest advantage over other escorts--its manuverability--is wasted, since NPCs are easy to keep in your firing arc anyway. Moreover in PvE there are plenty of better options. For instance, a Jem Dread with scorpion pets will get you through an STF faster than a JHAS.

As far as the pets go, I used to fly my Jem Dread a lot but I would mount elite scorpions instead of my elite JHAS pets, because the scorpions are better against the structures in STFs and as good as the JHAS pets in other situations.

Of course this is just my opinion and others may disagree, but you shouldn't feel like you're missing out on high end performance if you don't have a JHAS. There are better ships, performance-wise, so it's essentially a vanity pet (a very expensive one) for when you're flying your Jem Dread.
