It'll be a sad day when he goes, but he is a very old man.

To everyone else he is just a scfi actor that is sick, to us ( trekkies/trekkers ) he is a legend, our icon and will always be Mr Spock. Hope for a speedy recovery will be sent his way.

As a follow up, Mr. Nimoy tweeted the following:

    https://twitter.com/TheRealNimoy/status/431484755717021697
"I'm doing OK. Just can't walk distances. Love my life, family, friends and followers. LLAP"

That said, I think his 'quit smoking now' message is a good one.

I'd add support Scientiific medical research, so day something like stem cells will cure this disease, or heal create new lungs.

    Hope he gets better. :)

But also the way I see it, he has lived a better life than most of us and will continue to live long and prosperous after the inevitable happens.

So sad. I watched Fringe not long ago, he was pretty great in that, outside the Trek franchise.
