Where'd the 50 ship slots go?

The Dev Blog said they were raising the ship slots to 50 but I still have the same number.

What happened? Did the slots just not get added?

    They increased the MAXIMUM to 50. You still only get X ship slots to begin with and need to spend zen for more. Shame they didn't give a few free, but it doesn't cost much IIRC

    Why yes, yes I did expect to get more ship slots when they didn't mention the having to pay for them bit.

    To get over 10 slots, you have to pay - that has been well known for, about 4 years now.

    So that "assumption" was somewhat silly really wasn't it.

    From the patch notes:
    The total amount of ship slots available to purchase has been increased by 20.
    You can now purchase up to 48 additional ship slots for a total of 50 (not counting any earned in-game/ via veteran rewards).

    So yes, it did say you have to pay for them.
