Fed tac (bug ship) - polaron
Kdf tac (hirogen hunter) - currently elachi crescent disruptor, but I'm thinking some kind of tetryon too
Rom-fed tac (fleet mogai) - nanite disruptor right now, but planning to change ar'kif+plasma
Fed sci (vesta) - phaser
Fed eng (avenger) - voth antiproton
Rom-fed sci (dyson sci destroyer in the future)- it's not 50 yet, maybe i'll try protonic polarons with her when she hit 50.
Defiant
RnD and upgrade needs less RNG. Less lottery. Something has to change.
I've used every weapon type on the game in the 10 months I've been playing, and so far my three favorites are:
Tetryon
The hybrid versions aren't as "good" as a plain Tetryon. The way the shields just desinergrate at every shot just puts a smile on my face
Plasma
Sadly I do A LOT of STF's so they're not very useful against the Borg. Everyone else,...they never disapoint me. Especially with the Romulus kit on my ship).
Nanite Disruptors
Just an overall good death dealer
I only have one toon, so I made sure to try out every weapon on my various ships. And these three are my "go to" weapons. I'm willing to try new weapons if I can get my hands on them as well. Furthermore I would like to add the Hargh'peng and the Breen Transphasic Cluster torpedo are my love children. I"ve whooped so much a$$ with those two torpedo's it's not even funny. Every time I launch the Hargh'pen I have this evil villan laugh. Every time I launch the Breen Cluster, I say "This is going to hurt..." Then laugh when the mines detonate and I see 2,500+ DPS with each mine
One day Cryptic will be free from their Perfect World overlord. Until that day comes, they will continue to pamper the whales of this game, and ignore everyone that isn't a whale.
Which energy type do you use on your Scimitar? and what's your weapons build? all beam arrays? or ...
Bro... it's a Scimitar!
It could use dual wet pieces of paper cannons + dirty diaper torpedoes + TRIBBLE beams and still blow up an entire fleet,...single handed. Scimitar's are designed to blow things up as quickly as possible, reguardless of which weapons are on it. Their's something magical about that ship. Take from me, at times my Jem Dreadnought carrier is envious of the Scimitar.

personally, I like to stick with the faction weapons, I'm a sucker for the making it look like the shows
I really like the way the andorian Phasers look though, and the spiral wave disruptors, just a shame those are a pain to get a hold of
These are the Voyages on the STO forum, the final frontier. Our continuing mission: to explore Pretentious Posts, to seek out new Overreactions and Misinformation , to boldly experience Cynicism like no man has before.......
I got a different layout for pretty much each faction, though some shps, like the andorian vessel, gets their special weapons, like my rom sci when not in her AP obelisk, is going to be gett ing the dyson ship with protonic polarons.

I know ... I do that but ... one always strives to improve himself ... I am asking because right now I am puzzled between going plasma or going AntiProton.
First off, I must point out that , by personal choice, I run a Scimitar with a tac toon with 5 fleet AP dual beam banks in the front, the omnidirectional AP beam, kinetic cutting beam and AP fleet turret in the back so, DPS yes, but I don't want to be an all spamming beam arrays boat and I like a little more focused attack.
I have an aux-to-bat build with BFAW and APB built for PvE.
I have also tried the 5 romulan dual beam banks + the hyper-romulan torp build ( actually I don't think I have yet tried 5 romulan dual beam banks in the front ) and, for now, AP seems to perform a little better.
But I didn't get the embassy science consoles yet so I am at a crossroad between the plasma road and the AP road.
Plasma benefits from its own procs and the embassy science consoles, but AP benefits from my tactical abilities and from the ctrH/ctrD talents of my crew.

I don't pvp much and this setup is doing pretty good so far just going through missions. I am thinking about going Disruptor though.
This is where the loadouts are going to be great.
