With the 4th Anniversary upon us I just want to send a thank you to the STO team. I see a lot of negative things posted on the forums (I understand some is for constructive feedback). So I just wanted to do a post for a positive message.
I am one of the new players that discovered STO just last year and just in time to strap on a floater and cruise around Risa! I really enjoy this game. I have always been a fan of Star Trek. The fact that the STO team takes time to constantly provide new boxes, new ships, new content, new seasons, etc. is really great. Yes, I know you have to pay for things but it is a free to play game and you are not required to do so. Money must be made in some form and I feel their model does not infringe on people who do not want to spend money. Especially since you can farm dilithium and exchange it for Zen. They have allowed a lot of flexibility for us.
I also really appreciate the steady flow of blogs that are posted to keep me coming back to the website for important updates and information. The forums are also active with constant posts. Creates a real sense of community and really sets itself apart from another "star" mmo i discovered this year too, which I enjoy as well, but feels like crickets chirping when I go to the website. The STO website and game feel dynamic and like there is always something happening.
So, thank you for providing us captains with endless hours of fun and exploration.
