Small things, huge RP boost

So two things that's been bugging me.

1 Why on earth (space dock) is none of the chairs/benches/stools click sitable?
It's a really minor thing, but does a huge number on the RP potential.

Also speaking of click sitable, ten forward on your ship or the crew lounge needs some of that love too.

Academy got some love, and the bridge too. So why not the other places thats used a lot, and have the potential?

2 When unselecting all Boffs from station, why not empty the bridge on your ship?
That way RP enthusiasts like myself and many others, can RP with their friends playing various roles on the bridge.
Minor things, big impact.

One of the things i love about this game is it's RP potential, let's me emerse myself deeper in the game.

it has potential yes, but sadly this game doesnt cater much for "RP" stuff, look at how long it took them to just let you sit in the captains chair.... think it was like 2 1/2 years.

If you stand on the chairs (make sure you're on the butt part, not the armrest) and use the sit emotes, it works just as good. A little more work, but it'll do until they fix it.

Captain's Quarters, at least on Fed chars, needs this feature...

This came has sadly very poor RP support considering it's meant to be an MMORPG

Worst part is its not even multiplayer RPG its a multiuser social game that missing a lot of the social elements (like sitting and chatting).

The new EP, Stephen D'Angelo had this to say about ESD.

I can't promise when we'll get to them, but some items being looked at closely include improvements to tooltips and gear comparison, maps and navigation, and the game flow in Earth Spacedock. Personally, I've always found that ESD isn't laid out well to make playing there a fun experience, so that's one area I'd like to try and improve. Going to ESD should be a fun experience.

    Good point.

The costume thing is stupid. Costumes should be one tab not the different MACO and off duty tabs and they should do away with race specific ones. Some of the Romulan jackets look really good. And equally Romuanls should be allowed to wear their allies uniforms etc

Protip: 9/10 MMORPGs have very poor RP support

Time to set an example then. We don't want to make a bad habit out of habit now? ;)

I am going to immerse myself in the world of roleplaying, where the only rules are the ones I set and my imagination is my only limit.

*discovers benches have no sit function*

Immersion broken, game sucks, devs suck, ragequit kthxbai

Lol xD Well it's just that it's such a tiny thing, and kinda sucks that they made it possible in some places only. Seems kinda...halfassed you know? :/

Yea using our imagination is fine. The problem is as fubbe points out, they seem to apply a smattering of things to the game that promote RP but then fail to fully realize its potential. Such as allowing more freedom for the Costumes, there are a lot of costumes but then they seperated it all in different tabs.

The emotes; we know there is a console interaction remote in game...is it available in the emote menu...no? why?

I really hope they follow up on building on what they learned from Neverwinter and allow Fleets to change some of the internal visuals etc of your Fleet holdings through a foundry control. Hell it would be nice if you could change some external visuals just like you can change ship visuals

I frequently roleplay as my Romulan. His name is D'ir Sonatra and is the figurehead of Tryulis Exports (Which is in no way a totally secret cover for a Thalaron Arms Smuggler)

"Why no Admiral Quinn. I can assure you my Scimitar is only designed for its cargo bay space and its ability to fight off pesky pirates!"

"We have detected a Thalaron Power source in your ship"

"Have you? Well... I ermm, better go and check on it. Jolan Tru..."

Wearing the new Khan outfit as well has only added to that immersion. I now dress like a smuggler should which is awesome
THE ARTIST FORMALLY KNOWN AS TRYULIS
Vice Admiral Dir Sonatra, I.R.W. Kholairlha, Scimitar Class Warbird
Vice Admiral Oshin S'ree, USS Steamrunner, Steamrunner Class

    TEN FORWARD FLEET

Do you have any phobias related to interactive environmental elements we should know about? I have to ask, for it sounded like you got a nasty rash there, and needed to take it out on someone. Thanks. And probably not goodbye. :P

you can make all these happen via the foundry my friend make your own RP stages, i used to do it all the time for my old fleets

Only issue with making your own in the Foundary is that map is limited to 5 people. when you Have an RP Fleet of nearly 40 members a 5 man foundry map just doesn't cut it.

Dude, you can sit exactly ANYWHERE you like. The devs gave you this ability.
