Engi ship help thingi

Before you all say- "there is no best ship" let me explain to you how I play, and I understand that I can't really tell you, and I'm not gonna pvp you all. So. I can use beams, or cannons. I like escorts but like cruiser looking ships. The excelsior appeals to me, but I like the engi vesta, galaxy family (the ship, not the cryptic part :] ) and I have been sorta likin the avenger. But I also like the zen escort family. And I can't afford a lockbox ship, if I could I would get the bug or galor. So. And zen non-sci (except vesta) and I like tactical oriented and ts3. An I know that I'm weird. Lol

    Probably Avenger then, can go well with beams or dual heavy cannons, and has a little bit of flexibility with it's Lieutenant Universal BOff.

    There is no best ship.

    But from what you said, you probably want the Avenger. Or the Engi Vesta.

    I myself orginally stayed clear of the Avenger, until I finally gave in to that little nagging voice saying Buy it Buy it. I'm glad I did one of the best ships, if not the best ship I own.

    Cannon/beam capability with escort and cruiser performance. Sounds like you want a Chel Gret. And here come the waves of hate XD
    It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)

    You can't go wrong with the Avenger. Personally, the DHC builds make me wretch, but if that's what you want to do, do it.

    Thank you all. i actually got the answers that i want. I initially hated the avenger as well, but i am warming up to those 5 forward weps (drool). and nowthat ive been using a beam-boat for the last few days, i am gonna get a tactical heavy sci or tatical heavy engi. i am thinking avenger, even thought the design makes me wanna puke at times. the excelsior is very attractive. but no one recromended that, and i found that i can dps the same w/out cannons. so i might do that. thank you all fore your insight.
