Not pictured, their weapons fire have been given a new texture as well.

    They replaced the Apex model? Is the new model more canonical?

    I have to say that back when they replaced the Balaur Dreadnaught model the new one was a worse design IMO.

    My point being, why change the design completely? What's the point? It's fixing things that weren't broken. A quality pass would have sufficed.

    I like the new designs. To be honest the old Apex battle ship had engines that's almost a 100% match to Babylon 5's Omega class destroyer. Yes STO I'm paying attention very hard ;).
    The dress is gold and white. Over 70% people says so. When viewed from a certain screen angle it appears blue and black. The dress displayed on amazon is a blue and black dress, but it's not the same dress in the picture. If you're seeing blue & black you're slightly colored blind. A normal upright screen = white and gold.

    It also looked very similar to a Star Wars ship.

    Maybe the Hirogen are the next Lockbox? that is normally when they do an art pass. Either that or they're going to be the focus of an upcoming mission/event.

    Not only did the old Apex not look Hirogen, but it wasn't used exclusively by the Hirogen in the game. Thus I approve of the new (possibly soon to be playable) ship. :D

    Hey, look at that! Proper Tetryon beam colors!

    Now we can only hope that Cryptic will eventually hop on Dominion/Phased Polaron weapons and replace that ugly purple color with the cool icy blue that the ones in the show have.

    I expect this to be a hint for a Hirogen lockbox.

    The Apex was a "generic ship" (labelled as such in the foundry). The change was needed.
    As for an Hirogen lockbox, we all know it's going to happen :)

    Color me blonde, LOL, but, erm, I've never even seen a Hirogen ship in STO. Undine, yes, Hirogen, not so much.

    Could all point to a new lockbox, though.

    Odd, the Hirogen show up in missions for all factions including some patrol missions. ;)
