Well, Devs gave us Eng and Tac Fleet Consoles, now I think they are going to give us Fleet Science Consoles.
I know, I know ... we already have embassy consoles, but:
1 - They are not Fleet Consoles.
2 - They are quite useless... and there is no Field Gen.
Any idea if they are going to do this ?
Fleet Tac Consoles are not Fleet Consoles either...if Embassy Consoles are not. Given the Fleet Tac Consoles come from the Dyson Holding and not the Fleet itself. Likewise, the Fleet Eng Consoles coming from the Mine Holding and not the Fleet itself...would not be Fleet consoles by your logic either.
Speaking of Field Gens though, that's another item that I think should provide a flat bonus rather than a percentage bonus. With them providing a bonus based on a number that's modified by the Shield Modifier of the ship, the value of a Field Gen varies wildly...consider the difference it provides on a Koranth vs. a B'rel Retro, eh?

I'm comfused. No, wait. I-- I think maybe you're confused. Sci Embassy consoles are far, far from useless. Flow Caps, baby, yeah! It's actually Field Gens that are quite useless (for PVE, at least).
The Emitter Consoles, I'll give ya that, are kinda 'meh.' Unless you're constantly running TSS or some such (RSP doesn't even benefit from it), it's hard to justify slotting them when so much better ones are available.
Well, thing about when they made the Embassy is that they wanted to give players other options.
Their reasoning, or so we thought at the time, was that they didn't give Field Gens in the embassy is because they wanted the other consoles to be worthwhile on their own. Think of how many people would go for those if they'd put em in.
Now of course, that thought was tossed out when they added in fleet Engineering consoles.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

A flat bonus? Hm. A thought.
I don't think going to happen anytime soon. The inverse of that, the RCS consoles, have been a percent for as long as I can remember.
never say no, but there are the dyson rep sci consoles that have field gen properties and other stuff.
i'd say next fleet holding will provide ultra rare deflector disches.
I'm not thrilled with those. Mark for mark they give less then 2/3 the shield hp, and the 10% shield heal buff on average isn't anywhere near making up the difference with even 4 heals. I don't think the bonus damage enough is even close to letting me do enough damage to finish the battle before I missed the extra 1/3 shield hp.
The voth shield console is sort of a hallow lie unless you've never had a field generator.
Edit: That's for a science ship, btw. The one that should you would think be getting the most of out science consoles. I'm thinking the voth science (and engineering) consoles were play tested on escorts. :P

So uh...um...yeah...er...

Yes Embassy are fleet consoles.
but then, WHY devs didn't gave us Field Gens ?
I thought they were going to release them in the next fleet holding.
However, yeah Embassy console are useless for players like me.
Flow Caps ?
I use disruptor weapons, don't have plasmonic leech nor tachyon beam or energy syphon ...
The only useful sci consoles for me are:
Field Gen (Shield Cap)
Emitters Array (Shield Heal)

Then put your universals in your sci slots and buy fleet eng consoles instead? Not every console in the game has to be usuable by everyone >_>

RCS have been a problem as well - though because of the smaller range of numbers, they've not been the issue that other things have.
Consider a +35% blue Mk XI, eh?
Picture that on a Vo'Quv...1.75 or so.
Picture that on a B'rel...8.05 or so.
The B'rel has 4.6x the base turn of the Vo'Quv; so it receives 4.6x the benefit from the console.
