As I was looking at what the fleet spire store had to offer I found the upgrade to add one more active space and ground slots and this is what gave me this idea.
What if by fleet upgrades you where able to add one more weapon slot and console slots,
it might be very expensive but what if.
Fleet ships are already a noticeable upgrade to non-fleet ships.
How is that fair to people who wish to not be part of a fleet, for whatever reason?
This would give larger fleets a very noticeable advantage over smaller fleets in a competitive environment and put newer fleets even further behind the curve.
With the continuing power creep in the game, it may very well happen, but in my opinion it is a terrible idea.
(I am also biased because I am now firmly of the belief that weapons should be moved over to a 'hard-point' system. Both for the sake of gameplay variety, and to ensure the continued profitability of new ships without coming at the expense of core gameplay.)
This has been suggested so many times before. The answer is still no. Ship stats are the way they are for balance and uniqueness. That, and we don't need more power creep.
Being able to put a boff layout on a ship of my choice...that would be cool.
Allowing me to create a starship from the ground up using a fixed amount of "ship builder points" that would be amazing.
Adding more weapon and more then likely tactical slots is just not what this game needs
I Agree but the main reason i put this idea out there is that there is not many sci Ships with 4 weapon slots and being a Fed Sci officer I don't really like that, and I know i could choose from other ships that aren't sci but then the commander and Sometimes Lt Commander Boff arn't there

this game is balanced, explain to me how that is...
for the record, I too am against the upgrade idea..

I still like the idea of unlockable ship 'costume' projects (like you have for ground sets). Very clean and simple: you own a space set, you get a project made available to you to wear said skin.
