Big Dig and Breaking the Planet

I actually enjoy these two ground missions. I know the rewards are rather junky, but they are still fun to do every now and then. The biggest problem is that it is so hard to get a run going.

Sometimes I actually solo start the map and leave it public, hoping others will see it and join. They do sometimes, but not always.

If possible, why not let the map start with as little as 7-10 people. I know that's a small group, but I see the queue for both these maps jump up and down as people get tired of waiting. I think if the maps were running more often it would give people more incentive to go into them more often. I say keep the max limit at 20 people - just allow the run to start with a smaller amount. Heck, even if the maps remains with just those 7 people, it is still possible to complete both of them.

As I am typing this, I am in the queue for Breaking the planet and I am seeing people come and go from the queue. We were up to 7 and 8 several times which is why I think 7 is a good number to start with. I think once people see a run is already in progress and needs more, they will more likely jump in knowing they will not have to sit and wait for upwards of 30 minutes for a run to start.

Please say you all can do this!

7 is still too much, especially on KDF. I think 3 would be enough, 5 at most. You can actually complete them solo with good equipment, it just takes a long time. I've done it for the 1st place accolades.

I have been able to solo big dig several times. It's not that hard if you have decent gear. I guess for KDF the number may need to be lower since their queues are always smaller. Since I play primarily Fed I was looking at numbers for that. 3 in breaking the planet might be pushing it, but I see what you are saying. Start with 3 and then perhaps, seeing the map running, others will join in and get you a decent sized group.

    I like the idea.

Yes. I have trouble doing any queue other than CE or fleet alert as a Klingon. The queues just take way too long to pop or no one queues for them in the first place.

I agree they are fun maps. The main issue with the ques us that most players are casual playeers and dont learn ground, there fore they hate ground maps. They only wanna pew pew space.

After this dsyon bonus weekend, I would love to see a bonus ground weekend. Get people interested in ground so they can try it and learn how to play

Yes to this too! I used to be a ground hater until the battlezone came along. I can't get enough ground now :D

I've always liked these two events as well and agree w/the rest here that they could be started w/far less than the 20-man limit. I've always thought that what might help is a "bonus hour" for the Dil missions w/some kind of increase on the Dil reward similar to what you would get w/the wrapper mission (I think it's 1440?) I believe a dedicated bonus hour would certainly increase the interest, and therefore the turn-out for these, and the other Dil queues. Or... maybe offer a "choice of mark" box (Like the ones from the winter epohhs or the summer birdies) during this proposed bonus hour. Or heck, just throw them in w/the other mark events during the 3-hour bonus we have now and add these mark boxes w/maybe 25-40 marks in the box. I do believe they are fun and viable missions, they need a little love!!

I love these maps too, love to try soloing even if I died a lot, just make such a change to the usual approach to missions and estf's, which frankly get tiring after a while...

I no longer do any Bug Hunting work for Cryptic. I may resume if a serious attempt to fix the game is made.

BtP should be a 10-person threshhold with a cap at 20. KDf BtP (which is WAY fun) should be a simply 5-person threshold trigger.

Big Dig - yeah - 10 should be the threshold. Since scores are based on a per 5-person team basis, late entrants can still be "first".

No objections. In fact it's the idea why i proposed this.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
