Hello

What are the advantages of joining a fleet? How do you leave a fleet that you are already in? Finally, how do you find guilds that are recruiting/looking for members?

Thanks

    Advantajes?? all of em..

U get better ships (refits of the original ones, usually for example with 1 more universal station ,console slot or more stats or watever), better weapons, better all. U get some interesting boost packs, the best consoles of the game, and i could go on..

I think every one that plays the game is in a fleet. And everyone that plays the game carries fleet weapons, most of the time, and fleet stuff. I also use fleet mark boost bought at my fleet starbase all the time to keep gathering fleet credits and helping my fleet. I mean there are A LOT of advantajes. Not to mention that u have a group to help you, ask questions if u need, and so on. U can also do fleet pvp missions to train, farm, etc.

Leaving a guild is as easy as clicking "leave fleet" or something like that in your roster profile (of course u need to be in a fleet first xDD). But i never left my actual fleet so i really dunno how it actually works.

And i dont have a clue about searching fleets. Someone offered me once, to be in a fleet, i liked the name so i joined it xD, and thats it. If you have friends that plays STO, then you should make your own fleet, for example. That is cool, since all of you will be actual friends and the ways of communications are even better.

As a new player, I was invited to a fleet but I've now found out that English isn't its primary language so it makes things difficult.

I'm just trying to find a casual fleet that I can learn the basics of the game with. I've been in many guilds in other MMO's and I find thats the best way to learn how to play the game.

U probably right. But, with my alternate char, i receive invites all the time to be in a fleet, what i mean is, any fleet in STO should be willing to "teach" starter people. In my fleet for example, everytime a member joins, we keep saying everyone that if hes new and need answers or questions, dont be afraid to ask, and that there is no hurry in to progress in the fleet. Actually my fleet is not so advanced, but i am patient, i feel comfortable being part of it and thats enough for me. I contribute everyday with all i can, and thats the only thing you need to do. If u just started the game, u will probably not have resources, but as i said, there is no hurry. Because STO is a long-end game, u will need time to do everything, even if you are member of a fleet.

Of course, the basics of be part of a fleet is that you should contribute resources to the fleet, so u can enjoy the benefits as sooner as possible making the rest of the members to be part of those benefits as well. Some fleets are already at tier 3 on all the structures (dilithium mine, embassy, star base, spire) and if u join one of em, u will be very lucky since u will be able to buy all the good stuff since the beginning.

If you are looking for a fleet check out Earth Spacedock

You'll find a lot of different fleets recruiting there and most of them will post a lot of information on who they are.

You can disable those pesky random fleet invites but you'll still probably get random tells when around ESD and Qo'nos. I'm in the 44th fleet, and find it fits pretty well with what I wanted in a fleet. It's super casual and has an english speaking playerbase (in addition to other languages).

We have most of the bells and whistles on the fed side, maxed out starbase, dil mine and embassy. There are several people who are very knowledgeable about builds and are members of dps channels if that's your thing. And if/when you decide to do stfs running with the fleet makes them a breeze.

If you're over 18, poke around the forums and feel free to apply or ask questions

Just hang out above ESD and wait for a few minutes, keep your chat window open and look for the invites in the chat. Some fleets are better than others. Chose wisely.

Scroll down the forums, this is a couple sections for fleet recruiting. One Fed, one KDF. Or like others say, just hang around ESD long enough and you'll see 'join my fleet' in chat there.

Joining a fleet is easy, joining the 'right' fleet is hard.
Leaving the wrong fleet is super easy.. Big ol' Leave Fleet button is right there! :D

Feel free to bug one of our fleeties to try us out 'Starfleet M.A.C.O.'.
We're pretty casual but have max level on most fleet places.

Answer: You can get a TON of better stuff and more resources, basically there is no lose and only gain by joining a fleet.

I have characters in three fleets

fed side Nova Elite and the Bajoran Militia, KDF House of Nova Elite.

all three are laid back, casual no dues no requirements to join. and if you need help just ask and someone will come over to help you out. Send me a mail in game addys in sig if your interested in joining either.

also Nova elite has a permanent TS3 server if you want to join us there as well. Again NOT a requirement. And we have cross faction fleet chat channels as well.
