Why theres no "autofire" for boff powers?

the game (at least after s6) is designed to have all powers on 1 bind .Theres not much reason to waste your brain cells trying to time powers .
There should be a way to autofire all powers...at least that would save the spacebar key on so many keyboards.

    Bind all to space bar, put hammer on spacebar, set space bar to repeat click when held down. Go watch TV and come back to find 1) You beat teh noobs or 2) You ran into a premade and got curbstomped.

    Repeat till you have enough enjoyment/rewards.
    It is through repetition that we learn our weakness.
    A master with a stone is better than a novice with a sword.
    Has damage got out of control?

    see thats the problem ,some people make their keyboards useless after the spacebar fails for extreme tapping .We can go around this problem with some programing.

    I believe there are macro programmes which will do the same thing when you activate it.
    It is through repetition that we learn our weakness.

    You sound like one of the FaW lovers, just spam head to spacebar and go.

    PvP is actually fun because you need to time stuff, and if you want to rotate certain stuff continuously you can always put every single buff on your movement keys.

    guess reading is not your strong point.Question was why theres no autofire for boff powers not how to bind your powers.

    There was probably a long-lost design goal to have everything feel "active" when you use it.

    Things that you have to do, choose to do, and when to do them.


    Even the gap in EPTx that never made it live, was partly created along this concept - the designers don't want powers to be too passive or always on.


    They're probably striving for what you see in the thread on kits started by A.Hawk.

    Longer cooldowns, but bigger impact when used - as opposed to passive abilities.

    Unfortunately the otherside is that improperly balanced that leads to a lot of the swingy extremes we see, and it also has some issues where combat is a perpetual experience, for example 40 straight minutes of arena PvP.

    Auto fire on abiltiies?! Why I remember the days when there was NO Auto fire! You had to spam spacebar until your keyboard broke! You youngsters these days.. Now get offa my lawn! :P

    Why? You're either losing dps by not firing as often as you should, or breaking your keyboard by spamming spacebar needlessly.

    Set autofire on. Bind your rotation to space. Bind a separate key to cancel autofire for when you need to hold fire.

    It moves you from spamming space literally constantly to having to push it a few times every 30 seconds.

    Autofire has its uses. Omega torpedoes, for example. Makes it an almost constant plasma hose. Set it and forget it.

    I wouldn't want my BOFF abilities popping on their own, but what I would like is expanding the auto-follow ability to enemy contacts.

    Since we are at design goals how about PvP .It was designed to exists but its clearly not active lol :D

    This sounds like the laziest thing I've ever heard about in this game. Why do we need an autofire anything? That's my question. If you want to win everything while afk, go jump on battlestar galactica online. Hey, about this. Autopilot for all ships. That way you guys can go do whatever while your ship flied itself. Seriously, if you simply want to reap the rewards without doing anything, then stop playing and go do something. I don't even think autofire for weapons should exist, much less for powers.

    What does FaW ahve to do with Cruisers?

    Scimitars, Bugs, they can all run it.


    And yes, Im one of those players that realized Romulans are superior compared to your Fed escort, it was obvious on day 1 LoR got released. I guess I took the opportunity to level one up and you didnt.

    Lol. not using autofire is the biggest mistake. lol

    Sorry im not going into details, but its a 1st years lesson you learn in PvP, let the servers handle the firing rate, or you. In that case it means you have massive DPS loss, even if you ram your spacebar as fast as you possibly could.

    Sure, you dont want torps on autofire, and not even a dbb in some rare occasions or builds, but no autofire. LOL

    You can simply control the autofire's behavior with Toggle, change cancels, or maintain, or non combat cancels.

    Btw 'toggle' isnt really toggle if you simply use GenSendMessage HUD_Root Fire*whatever*. toggle only works if you explicitely fire certain weapons on your tray with TrayExecByTray commands, in that case 1 press will activate them, second press will deactivate them. Also a bad way to keep your DPS up.
