Fleet Kar'fi needs spire?

So I was all set to buy my fleet carrier when I realise that they've tied the Kar'fi into the spire system...

Why is such an old ship reliant on spire level 3??

To give a good enough reason to want a tier 3 Spire.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

Because cryptic saw a very select few minority fleets had already ground out the Tier5 fleet shipyard... and they wanted to milk you for more and more grind and money. They want more dil, meaning you'll buy more zen to get it, meaning they'll make more money.

Meanwhile the MAJORITY of us are struggling years later to even get fleet projects filled, let alone progress in tiers of shipyard.

There is no other reason to link it to spire instead of fleet shipyard. Cryptic is just out of touch with the player base.

The only logical answer as to why they would do such a thing in this case is lazy profit, they were willing to add hurdles that will make them more cash, but were less willing to add/release content that would make the whole ordeal actually meaningful.

In such a heavy time/resource/money sink I would expect strange wonderful new content, but instead we have copy pastes and nothing really else.

The Voth ships should have been Fleet Spire ships, that would have been logical and meaningful, but instead they've added those to their gambling system.

I have no qualms with Cryptic/PW making profit, but the way they did it with the Spire system, and looking at what it could have actually been, simply put, is quite sad, distasteful, greedy and blatantly lazy.

On a lighter note there's a backdoor on accessing high level Spires as there are many fleets out there (seek those who are non-profit) that will let you use their t3 Spire. As to the Fleet Kar'fi I don't believe there are legit fleets out there yet with a full t3 spire so you'll have to wait a little longer for those.

There are fed fleets with full spires, but no kdf ones yet. The problem is you need to be actually in fleet to buy ships, as opposed to just be invited to their instance for buying all other items.
