Whats wrong with contributing to another fleet's holdings? There are bunches of young and small fleets that could use a boost to their projects... And since fleet credits stay with you no matter what fleet you're in, just make sure you have a friend who can let you back into your old fleet and go help out a younger and smaller fleet!

I know a character who belongs to a large fleet. Because of this, he cannot always donate his fleet marks.
When he gets an excess, he messages me, in game, leaves his fleet, I invite him to mine. He dumps his extra marks, gets the credits, and goes back to his true fleet.

yeah Ideally this is a great way of solving the problem, but I've notice that a lot of larger fleets now have a no returns policy, so once you leave for any reason, you aren't allowed back.
It's not myfault ifyoufeel trolledbymyDisco ball...Sorry'boutit.
Any other way of earning fleet creds other than the holdings projects?

To answer your question, the fleet holdings are the only way to earn Fleet Credits.

Post #5 is correct, many fleets don't allow you to return. And this is just an opinion, but that's a stupid policy, especially for fleet members who CANNOT earn the needed fleet credits in their respective fleets.
Post #6 is also correct and answers the question concisely.
I just hope you're in a fleet that will allow you to return. Get in good with one of the fleet leaders by messaging them a few times via email and expressing your concerns and plans. Then do what I and post #4 suggest. I also have a small fleet. I can grind for fleet marks OR dilithium, but I have no time for both. I grind for the Dilithium, and invite others to join so they ahve a place to redeem fleet marks for fleet credits. Problem solved... Hopefully...

I am one of the X/O's of my fleet. We have no problem with members from other fleets coming to our fleet to donate, then return to their fleet. They can remain at the lowest rank, during this time, and donate for their fleet credits.
We do require, though, that the leaders meet with us in game to work out the details before hand. This is to try to eliminate any misunderstandings, or problems before hand.
Using this method, there is no conflict of interest. The person doesn't need to be remain in our fleet, and when they leave, their fleet credits go with them.

Or fleets could form a fleet alliance. Fleet members in that alliance would be able to freely move between fleets and donate to smaller fleets to earn their fleet credits. The smaller fleets get help with projects.

I'm thinking though, from the other threads I read in the Fleets forum, that the fleet alliances are not possible at the moment. This is still true, correct?

Not officially, however, fleets can create a shared channel to communicate through and transfer members between fleets to donate. Fleets would just have to put limits on what new members can access so they don't have fleet hoppers that raid their bank and provisions.
