More open pvp zones?

For starter I have to say that this game offers me the most fun I have had in a mmorpg so far, but I just don't understand why they cannot release more open pvp zones with different objectives....

I understand that cryptic has to offer content to the mainstream that actually spend money on the game (PVE), but I don't think that it would require that much effort or time from cryptics team to release atleast one PVP oriented objective for each "season".

Also I have to say, they have already released a zone that is basicly perfect for PVP... I mean c'mon the contested zone in the dyson sphere is just made for open pvp... But rumours says that the KDF vs FED war might end soon... but with cryptic you never know.. those pesky KDF might have some dialogue with the Voth, and backstab the federation and total war might break loose.. (we can only hope).

But the cards are open, please oh please Cryptic, give us more PVP content, if it only be one ker'rat zone with some objective that makes sense, with decent rewards...Is it so much to ask for? I am at the point that i have nothing more to do with my main character, PVE content provides me with no challenge to speak of, so there is only PVP left....

I agree, STO needs more open pvp zones.
Though it most likely will be started by those Undine controlled feds at the behest of thier Iconian puppet masters.:P

I say we need zones with asymmetric objectives, to account for the fact that population counts grossly favor Feds. For instance, Klingon raids on Federation installations, in which Feds aim to defend the installation while the Klingons seek to blow it to bits. There would be a larger number of defending Feds, because there are a larger number of Fed players, but they'd have to defend multiple objectives, while the smaller number of Klingons can choose where to strike.

I just want something "else" to do... I have maxed out every reputation, and can get any item i want from this game...

I would love for this game to have some PVP aspect so I can get "something" in return from.. I am so tired of all the STF's or queued PVE events because i did all of those to grind for marks... The only fun I have today, is when i PVP.... but there is nothing to "gain" from it.. there are no leaderboards, there are no in game system to give an incentive to actually bother to focus on PVP..... Other than the love for PVP... and that requires alot of effort from you as a player, to get really get to know your ships, gear, doffs, boffs, skills, traits, and all the different combinations, what works with what, and what counters what... thats the challenge, but if there is no incentive to do so... most people stay with the PVE content.. and for me atleast, that is no challenge as it is today...

And even though FED and KDF might make peace soon enough, there should of been some Holodeck-instance for WAR-training, or exersize. With competitive goals. Add a leaderboard to this in form of 1vs1, 2vs2, 3vs3 and so forth... Random challenges and have a team/playerrating. The higher rating of the player/team you win against, the higher score on your rating you would get. Also have the possibility to directly challenge someone today would be pure awesomeness. Just a leaderboard with no rewards would interesst me alot.

ps.. The arenas we have today, are they not considdered to be a form of "training" in a holodeck?

As much as I like the idea, it has been tried and was pulled after complaints that the KDF had the advantage due to cloaking being one reason.
I would like to see them try again though.

Expect a possible PvP one now that the ground & space battlezone tech exists.

Of course, Cryptic will gimp us to keep the rest of the community happy.
