Skyrim is pretty damn epic, just started it today and boom where have 6 hours gone? It's that good
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."
-Lord Commander Solar Macharius
Oh, man, what a question. Oooold school gamer here going back to playing a new invention called Pong at my uncle's wedding when I was about 7 or 8. Then Atari, then arcade mall rat for more than a decade.
Board games: maybe Avalon Hill's Civilization (no relation to Sid Meier's) and Rail Baron (view the very well done computer equivalent made by fans here.)
my old Atari 2600: Activision's Space Shuttle. More simulator than game, the creator found a way to trick the hardware into acting like it had twice the processing power than it really had. (No I don't remember how that was done).
The old-school, vector graphics, coin-op arcades: Battlezone
My personal favourites? Here they are:
Need For Speed IV: High Stakes, V: Porsche Unleashed, and ProStreet.
Elite, yeah that was fun on the C64 (although I couldn't dock to save my friggin life, LOL.
Dune II, C&C, C&C II, && Red Alert
MechWarrior 2, II Ghost Bear's Legacy, and Mercs
MechWarrior III & Pirate's Moon
MechWarrior IV: Vengeance, Black Knight, and Mercs (only thing I didn't like about this series, was the locked type hardpoints, I like the old BattleTech style construction options.
F-15 Strike Eagle, F-19 Stealth Fighter, & F-117 Stealth Fighter.
Israeli Air Force & Jane's Navy Fighter's
Eye of The Beholder I-III, Dungeon Hack
Wasteland
Bard's Tale I
Gauntlet
Sinistar
The Sims I-III
Master Of orion I & II in particular, but I like III very much, as well
