Photonic Shockwave

Even using the DOFF which creates Aftershocks and the DOFF that reduces this ability's Cooldown is it really any good?

I ask because it seems its super short range and lack of damage make it useless even with these two things and full Particle Generators.

Have you ever played a game with interrupts or short stuns that break a pseudo chained ability?

    In a sense, that's PSW.

    You mean like...: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7I7Ue2wX6iQ

But in all seriousness... Yes, I do get that it can make a BRIEF tiny interrupt but that is ONLY useful in PvP the vast majority of times and even then only slightly.

Its good at clearing spam, all those torps and mines and pets coming at you -poof- gone

Also good at setting up a combo, stun then BO/HY

It's more of a PvP thing, to break extends and other channeled abilities or stun a target or targets to allow for a quick kill.

In PvE the damage is lacklustre (thanks PvP tactical captains) and the stun duration on NPCs is pretty poor. By that I mean anything that poses enough threat to need to be stunned is supper resistance 1000% to it. Coupled with it having damage massively reduced by shields it isn't great for PvE.

Just add it to the long list of science abilities that are mostly useless in PvE.

It is through repetition that we learn our weakness.
A master with a stone is better than a novice with a sword.

Has damage got out of control?
This is the last thing I will post.

That is true but Tractor Repulsers does it better and can out and out kill things like cubes and structures.

That is basically my finding. Even getting multiple shockwave chains it still seems to fail to impress which is really rough IMHO. This is WITH a Tactical Captain mind you. Even as a Tactical Captain its damage is pathetic and by the time the animation is over the stun on NPC's (if it even works at all) is over.

I've said it recently, and I will say it again:

    Subspace Decompiler consoles.

I bet that would change things right quick. :D
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

It generally seems to mean that the disable lasts until the blink of an eye AFTER the animation is finished instead of exactly when the animation is finished... Not a huge difference.
