I'd love to have a domestic earth cat as a non combat pet. Data had one. :)

Cats and dogs would be cool ,but they come in so many flavours, it would be a lot of effort to put even a little selection in.

Would it be a housecat? A siamese? A persian? all look different.
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

Easy. It must be a norwegian forest cat. Pretty, fluffy creatures.

I used to have a cat that was similar to those. BEST CAT EVER! :D (she might have been a Maine Coon though, they're nearly indistinguishable from each other)

anyways, I'd be happy to have a Capellan cat.

Norwegian Forest cats and Persians would be awesome. I'd settle for a plain old tabby even.

Good Idea, but i am afraid the needed AI for this pet would assimilate my Windows and make my computer explode like a console

No, must be a Maine Coon, only one big enough to show up as a decent sized pet cat.

I don't disagree with players wanting cats, but I can't imagine a cat following us around. It's extremely rare cats follow around their owners. Perhaps cats could be a type of ship interior only pet, to give it ambiance?

If they do such a thing, perhaps they finally add that giant tribble from TAS, sitting in my captain's chair and me having to push it off once in a while.

I have a better solution: Have a cat in real life. Much better pet experience :)

Is it normal for any of the non-combat pets to follow someone around? Baby dinosaurs, Hortas chillin on ESD, spiders, etc. etc? This is just for fun we don't have to get all serious about it.
On another note, I'd like to be able to buy "Gritty Kitty" brand kitty litter for my space kitty in the Lobi store and maybe we could have a cat condo and special litterbox in the next lock box. :P

Didn`t you know how hard it already is playing STO while your cat is trying to rest on your keyboard, cauz...you don`t pay him enough attention:D Happens to me all the time :) But a little critter at my captainsquarter, i wouldn`t mind that at all.

Ya mine loves to follow me too, that is when she isn't drinking out of the toilet. She thinks she's a dog.

How about an attack cat? Something that latches itself to your opponent's face and claws them to death while the victim runs around screaming.

Mine do too. What's rare is them actually leaving me alone.

I get this vivid mental projection of caitians and ferasans throwing kittens at eachothers like a snowballfight.

Was that a joke? Khellids, Driclae Pups, Voth Raptor Hatchlings, Epohhs, Risa Tropical Birds, etc. And you're saying it's too hard for Cryptic to make slight detail and/or color variations between them?

It has become a standard to have various colored non-combat pets in the game, some with minor detail differences. If anything, I'd say it wouldn't take much effort at all to make a few different cats and/or dogs.

My sister's cats love to play search and destroy. Sapphire is an avid hunter and keeps the garden free of vermin. Trinity(named that because she has 3 eye colors, not 3 eyes, just 3 colors due to sectoral heterochromia), is still learning the art from Sapphire.

Anyways, the combat pet thing is why I suggested Capellan power cats. they're the size of a jackal mastiff and can electrocute you.

??? My cat follows me everywhere or is going between my legs to be picked up. Don't want him following/tripping you? Drape him across your shoulders.

And not even close to my first cat like this.

I'm all for adding cats so long as our pets can be hostile with each other, now that would be fun.

No . . . cats are the work of the Devil! . . . right now my eyes are watering just discussing those vile creatures. Cats have no place in STO . . . but dinosaurs do.
