Thanks to our friends at startrek-starships.com, we're excited to offer STO fans the chance to win a starship model personalized with their own name and registry*! *Rules & restrictions apply, read more for full details.
That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.
You guys really gotta stop using the article page for contests. The comment system is horrible and either won't let us make a comment, or we accidentally end up making like a dozen or so comments and we get disqualified!
Tried to comment twice, both times just told me that I had to write a comment, and I clearly already had. Now I think I might have commented twice because when I hit post again it said I'm commenting too quickly...
Cryptic, I'm glad for giveaways like this, but please either stop using the article itself as a comment system or fix the current comment system.
If your getting the same "messages" that I was, type your comment in the comment box, click once to get the "please leave comment" error message, wait 15 minutes and hit "post comment" a second time...
so after put in the answer and click "post comment" it tells me "Please write a comment." So I retyped my answer and clicked again only to get the same response "You are posting comments too quickly. Slow down.." But how can that be if my first comment got the response "Please write a comment." I don't see my name on the list of answers so I hope this will be fixed be for the contest is over. I also hope its not a bug and I've now bin disqualified for having more than one response.
It's telling me to writr a comment even after I wrote and clicked. Help?
After you get the message just leave your comment in the box and wait 10-15 minutes and "post" your comment, it should work after that amount of time has elapsed.
Hey everyone,
Sorry for the interference with the comment system. I guess some Borg must have beamed into the office when our shields were down, and they are assimilating our intern staff as we speak! Who will fetch our coffee now!
For those of you who are still experiencing technical difficulties, my best advice would be try refreshing your page by clearing the recent cache by pressing CTRL+F5.
If that doesn't clear up the issue, sign out of your account, close and then re-open your browser, and then navigate back to the page to try again.
If this doesn't solve things, try logging in using a different browser.
If all else fails, please be patient and try again later. Our page could be getting overloaded with all the contestants attempting to enter at once.
Thanks again for your understanding Captains! Now... off to save some interns!
Once again this particular giveaway offers nothing to your loyal fans and supporters OUTSIDE North America or UK. I recall voicing this concern the last time it was held. We exist too...

In cryptics defence (good grief typing that felt strange), but I think it says on the terms page that if you're outside of UK/US they'll work with you to give you a comparable digital prize (a z-store ship I imagine).
Nice competition though. Cant wait to have my own Prometheus called USS Agamemnon (like my old one in game). Must....... win.................
I love everything about this model collection, bar one thing: Why in the name of all thats pure and good and right was the Bajoran Solar Sailer, the most hideous pointless piece of junk ever, picked over the Kumari, the coolest ship of all time?
Solar Sailer appeared in one (bad) episode. Kumari in at least eight I can think of and was awesome in all of them. In STO terms, myself and many others campaigned for an andorian ship for ages in multiple posts, yet I've only seen one Bajoran ship thread (and though a good idea, it was anywhere near as popular).
Sigh. Still, at least the aquatic cruiser is in the pipeline apparently.
Got a cat? Have 10 minutes to help someone make the best degree dissertation of all time?
Then please fill out my dissertation survey on feline attachment, it'd be a massive help (-:
Not to worry Captains, if you are outside of the US or UK we will still offer you a prize!
The country restriction is due to licensing agreements that are beyond our control. We do not want any of our loyal players to feel excluded, so we made sure to include this bit of info in the blog entry itself, but here it is again just in case you missed it...
"If you win and are outside of one of the aforementioned countries, we will work with you to provide you a comparable digital prize:"
So there you have it folks, don't get discouraged. We will be providing a comparable digital prize if the winner is outside of the listed countries.
Get your comments in now, and good luck!

I can say to anyone who CAN get the special Starship (PS: There needs to be like 10 winners) , then they are of a superb quality, and to a superb standard; in all, highly recommended.
Hopefully I'll come back from my break; this break is fun; I play intellectual games.
Does anyone know what the physical dimensions of these models are? I can't find anything on the startrek-starships.com FAQ that tells me how big they are.

They are there ... I promise.
My Galaxy class ship/model is nearly 15cm long.

Feeling better?
Seriously, do you not read?
I hope STO get's better ...
But my point still stands, as the digital prizes are not spcified, as in what we can get if we should win and are outisde the specified countries...
I would reather have the actual prize than some digital item...
And sorry for the the other post I made, been a stressfull day...
Don't say sorry to me, say sorry to cryptic Nahhh, I forgive you!
I hope you do feel better, stressful days suck.
As for Digi stuff ... at least you win something!
I hope STO get's better ...
Like say, a JHAS, or is it something else??
Some details would be nice Cryptic...
Yeah, Cryptic doesn't turn that feature on anymore for the majority of postings. I guess it gets too negative for them.
