Costume Question: Armor

marcusveritasmarcusveritas Member Posts: 6 Arc User
This is probably a silly question, but do you have to have the armor sets equipped to use the costume option? In other words if I own the armor can I look like I am wearing it w/o wearing it. Currently the Jem hadar armor MK XII is a good option but the visuals are lame.

Open Up your Character Tab (U) and there should be a little eye icon next to both your armour and kits (and weapons). Click that to Toggle your visuals on/off. :)

If you do the Costume unlock project from the reputations, then you can get the look of it without wearing it. The Jem'Hadar Armor Mk XII is one that you can't create a costume for. The armor costume option is limited to the STF ground sets and the Dyson Ground set. So you can wear the Jem'Hadar Mk XII armor, but looking like you are wearing the MACO Mk XII armor.

If the set enables an actual costume unlock (and you unlock said costume), then no, you don't have to use the set to use the costume. You can use the Omega set but a MACO costume and vice-versa.
