i cant remember where i acquired it from. ive tried searching around the game and the interwebs and cant find the answer. can anyone help me out?

    you can't get them anymore. Before the rep system there was a shop in DS9 where you could trade in chips form STFs to get them. Now with the rep system you can get similar weapons from Omega reputation, but I believe they are only antiproton.

    You can get [Borg] versions from the defera invasion zone but it's random drop and no higher then MKX.
