Winter Event Ships should be BoA not BoC

I am of the firm belief that it is a terribly tragedy that you have made the ship rewards from the winter event BoC. I fully understand having them bound and having the Q portraits bound to avoid an unnecessary in game economic mess on the exchange, but since you don't offer ship types for each class of captain it makes absolutely no sense to have the ships BoC. I put in the effort last year on my tactical captain to earn my Q portraits and purchase a Chel Grett Warship. Part way through winter event last year I capped my Engineering captain and she was able to earn just over 500 Q portraits prior to events end. This year I earned the remaining 400+ marks on my engineering captain to earn a Plesh Brek Heavy Raider which I poorly assumed I would be able to move to one of my tactical captains via my Account Bank who could actually use the ship. Imagine my surprise when what I got for the efforts I put in on my Engineer was a slot holder for my bank that is of absolutely no use to her. So what do I do in this situation, Leave the box in my bank to sit for all eternity, useless, taking up a slot that could be holding something useful, or do I discard it and basically make each of the 25 days that I logged into the winter event and ran the race to earn the Q portraits a huge waste of time. Either way not exactly what I would call a good player experience. If you don't want to make the ships BoA then you should at least offer a ship type for each class of captain to make the event worthwhile and the efforts of your players not to go to waste. That is my two cents. Thank you for your time.

I agree with the main thrust of your statement, that of Event items/reward being account-bound and not character-bound. Reason being on year 3, my longest-running character only needs one "round", but could collect for newer toons that don't have the older ships/rewards.

In my mind, this makes rolling new toons attractive (buying new toon slots) and getting more ships (buying more ship slots) make sense, and would be profitable for Cryptic. Instead, if I have one (or just a few) toon(s) that has(ve) ALL the ships, I'm much more likely to keep consolidating on just that one.

Besides, there's simply no reason to not make them account-bound. Holiday Reward Packs are, Holiday Trinkets are, but not Holiday Q-photos or Eppoh tags (which makes no sense--a Lvl 5 character can run exactly as fast as a Lvl 50, and has no use for them (no Doffs yet)).

I will disagree with the sentiment that your Engineer can't do anything with the Plesh Brek--mine absolutely tears things apart in that. But that's a tiny detail--I agree with the rest.
