Dual Cannons on Toron

I was wondering why we aren't able to use the Disruptor Dual Cannons -S that you get from The Vault mission on the Toron shuttle? I was looking at the design and it even appears as if the Toron has cannon-like apparatuses at the aft-bottom of the ship. I would really like to use the -S dual cannons on this shuttle. Anyone else?

The only shuttle of the KDF that can use dual cannons is the To'duj fighter. The Toron can't use dual cannons (they can use single cannons, though).

Yes, I know this. I'm saying that the Toron should be able to use cannons. Have you seen the design? There are cannons on the ship itself but it can only use beams.

Until cryptic realizes that little design incoherence, you can always try and use dual beam banks... Not as cool, but still worth it if you want some forward dps.

This isn't the only ship that bafflingly cannot use cannons. The Corsair also can't use cannons, despite the obvious big cannons on front. If those aren't cannons, what the hell ARE those?

I use Dual Beams on all my shuttles, and they serve the purpose perfectly well.
I completed a 2-man CSE, ISE, and KASE, Optionals included. And I soloed Winter Invasion.

Most likely the reason is just that it's a shuttle/runabout.
And those have been using beams throughout most of the shows.
Heck I'm not even sure we've actually seem them use anything else even though the DS9TM claims the shuttlepods on the Defiant have a smaller version of the Defiant's phasers.

And just beause something it "cannon-shaped" doesn't automatically mean it's a weapon.
The "turrets" on the Soyuz for example are not weapons, but Okuda said they were sensor arrays.
The same is probably true for the structure at the bottom right of the Constellation, otherwise she'd have a "hipmounted" gun.

And let's be honest for a second: if the shuttles and runabouts had cannons, what distinctive feature would fighters bring to the table?;)

Their cannon rapid fire ability. Or their maneuverability. Seriously, what difference would if make if Klingon shuttles could use dc's? None.

Then why do you want something that makes no difference so badly?
