Firstly, if this is in the wrong section I apologise.
Anyway, I have been trying for ages to aquire the Temporal Destroyer and/or the D'kora. I have opened countless lockboxes to no avail, and I (once again) missed the FE Lobi promotion. In my past ignorance I recycled all the Lobi that I got from said lock boxes.. the result being I currently have 10 Lobi. Finially I turned to the exchange to try and make the EC to get said vessels. Every time I post something it either instantly drops in price by 50%+ or just never sells. (I swear I'm the reason Antiproton XI rare consoles are now so cheap..)
I have given up on getting either of them, or any lockbox ship for that matter, by normal means. So as my final attempt I'm here on the forums, and I'm going to do something insane:
I'm going to ask if there is anyone on here who is generous enough to give up a possible 80-140 million EC to give one of those ships to me for a fraction of it's exchange value or take an IOU and payments for the rest of eternity?
I know I will be flamed, laughed at, called desperate, or whatever.. but at this point I don't really much care. I dont have hardly any IRL $ to spend on a chance to get a ship from a lockbox or to buy cstore stuff to sell on the exchange. So here I am, "begging" like a little girl, for something that I know is a longshot at best.

I doubt you will get anyone giving you such a ship. However, there are many ways to make enough EC to buy the ship yourself. "Give a man a fish, teach a man to fish, etc."
First, do you have a Romulan character or an empty character slot to make one? The Romulan Boffs you get from leveling up and that you can get from doffing in Tau Dewa sell for upwards of 10 million each if they have the right traits.
With the Holiday Event right now, the holiday commodities can sell for a decent amount, particularly the Sleigh Bells and Holiday Beads if you can sell them in bulk. Doffing and snow fights, they can add up, especially with tomorrows patch.
Doffs in general can sell for a decent amount. If you run the various colonization chains in the exploration clusters, those can reward you with free purple doffs on a crit. You can't sell the purple of course, but you can toss them into a grinder and get 3 blues. Some of those blues sell for a good amount (mostly in Engineering), and the unpopular ones can be ground down to 9 whites selling for maybe 30 grand each. Even if you never get anything good, its still 800k.
Foundry farming missions are generally just junk drops, but even junk drops can sell for altogether a couple hundred grand per day.
And thats just the honest-work kinda stuff I can think of off the top of my head, not even counting things like Kerrat farming or Exchange poaching. Put some effort in and get a rhythm going, you'll be pulling in a couple million each day. You'll have your ship in a month or so, no begging required.
I've been sending letter to Bill Gate's house for YEARS asking him for $5000 just to get my out of this hole I'm in. He earns that in a minute. I haven't heard from him.
The same thing will happen here. No one just hands out that kind of cash to someone they do not know. Excusing the outliers of thousand dollar tips and whatnot, it never happens.
Unfortunately, the EC exchange has all but died, thanks to all your console and gear needs being met by your fleet. The next best thing would be for you too start investing in doffs. Gathering up white colonist and throwing them on the exchange, as well as grinding up purple doffs can still fetch some coin.
Another option is, quite seriously, just buy some zen store items and sell them on the exchange. . Seriously. A fleet module cost $5, and sells for 8million EC. Thats $5.. You can get that shoveling someones sidewalk. Or passing up two Starbucks coffees on your way to work. Just save yourself $5 a month and in ten or so months, you can have a Temporal Destroyer. And that if you only put in one fleet module in a day.

Hi Ryan, let me tell you how I got my kdf temporal vessel.
1. Grind Dilithium
2. Exchange for Zen
3. Buy lockbox keys
4. Use lobi to purchase decent items
5. Sell items on exchange
6. Use ec to buy temperal vessel
I also got my 3 pack Vesta the same way, but just kept the Zen
Thankyou all for constructive responces. I didn't expect to get a ship from the post really, but it was/is a hope. I suppose I will try again with the Exchange and such.

stop crying over not getting a lockbox ship if your unwilling to work the system to get ec. don't come on the forum asking for handout let alone a expensive ship like the D'kora or wells class.
I have opened countless lockboxes to no avail, and I (once again) missed the FE Lobi promotion. In my past ignorance I recycled all the Lobi that I got from said lock boxes.. the result being I currently have 10 Lobi.
The tragic part is that you took not one, but two of the most valuable sources of energy credits and literally threw them away. Firstly, you should have sold your keys on the exchange for 1.8 million EC each. You would've been much further on your way to owning a D'kora if you had. Secondly if you had insisted on opening lockboxes instead, you should have discovered the value of Lobi before carelessly deleting yours. Seriously, did you never even bother to check that the Lobi rewards were valuable and tradeable? You're the guy who invests in the stock market at its peak just before a crash. You're the guy who really believes that Nigerian princes want to give you their money if only you'd give them your bank account number. I'd buy you a D'kora out of sheer pity for your self-inflicted poverty, but I think it's better to let you keep kicking yourself for your mistakes so that you'll learn from them and appreciate earning your dream ship all the more.
I feel for you OP. I have a character solely dedicated to that ship. And with the complete temporal gear, it's the most fun to fly.
Unfortunately, the Tour event was made next to useless, so I'd recommend a combination of EC grinding from the foundry and selling it to vendors, winning good drops from PvE and selling on the exchange plus throwing some cash at it, as others have said. Buy keys or modules and sell them. Might take a month or so but not too bad.
I like you have been after a lock box ship, the adapted destroyer. Been selling keys and anything else I get my hands on and I'm still 50 mil ec short. The key is not to give up, I know I'll earn mine eventually.

Sell the keys and save the ec, that will work better towards getting the ship you want.
Doffs are massive ec. 25k fleet credits can get you a purple doff and that's 500k ec at least. Then you can do the exchange missions and any other missions that give some form of doff and make more ec with that. Make a KDF toon and do catfood missions, each stack sells for 10 million ec.
The key is to save your ec and focus on your goal. Donn't give up and think I'll play the lottery and hope. It will break your heart every time.
I smell something, opens countless lockboxes yet only has 10 lobi??
How many do you call countless? 100 lockboxes would equal a minimum of 400 lobi....
Lobi is now account bound:
Collate into one char.
Buy popular lobi ship for 800 lobi. (easy as you opened countless boxes right?)
Sell lobi ship on exchange.
Buy the ship you want with the proceeds.
Profit??
I don't quite get why you didn't manage to at least get the Temporal Destroyer. We just had the FE Rerun which netted me about 500 Lobi in exchange for 5 minutes of playing the game daily. That's more then half the price already.
That is, if you plan was to buy the ship with Lobi. I did that too. Took me about a year (before the new reruns) to get those 800 Lobi.
Farming EC to buy it off the exchange is much much faster, though.
Farm Foundry Loot missions daily on as many characters as you can stomach. Farm enough dilithium per day to at least be able to buy and sell one Master Key a day. Get some random purple Doffs from your Fleet's starbase and sell them too.
Incidentally, I finished my long term project "Temporal Tactics" yesterday myself.
All in All:
1. about one year of grinding 800 Lobi (i was looking specifically for a long term project to keep me invested in the game)
2. about 2 months of grinding Lobi for the Temporal Warfare Set (severely accelerated by the unexpected FE Rerun)
3. About 3 months of farming EC for the Temporal Science Ship (wanted the skin and the Tippler console)
I'm going to ask if there is anyone on here who is generous enough to give up a possible 80-140 million EC to give one of those ships to me for a fraction of it's exchange value or take an IOU and payments for the rest of eternity?

You are confusing stupidity for generosity. I won't bother listing all of the reasons why this shouldn't/won't/doesn't need to happen.
You mean "buy" but yes, thats the more sensible route
not to nitpick but seeing as the only keys I've sold are 4 from 500 monthly zen and the rest has been from the earned lobi/holiday items, I consider what I'm doing to be earning my shiprather than buying as I'm not spending any real money. That being said, thank you for the notice, you are correct about lockboxes, they are a gamble for ships you should never expect to win so it's better to use them as lobi generation for set pieces. Forums like this pop-up all the time and frankly it's silly.
You are basically saying "I have made mistakes, and now I ask you to pay for it ?". You used keys instead of selling them. You deleted lobis instead of using them. You missed several FE rerun. I'm sorry, but I don't feel any kind of pity for you.
If you would have been TRIBBLE or something, and were asking us to help you, because for some reason Cryptic was unable to do anything, it would be another story. But right now, you gambled with the boxes, and failed. You are the guy in front of a casino of Las Vegas who lost everything, and ask random people outside to give him money.
There is a simple rule everyone knows about casino and any kind of gambling : the house always win. For some reason, they always seems to forget it when they need it the most.
I spent keys on boxes, and perfectly know I was not going to win. Obviously, I did not win. But I still kept my EC safe, and bought a Wells about a year ago. Not spending a single cent for it. And not being hardcore. It will take you some time, but you can do that to.
I've been sending letter to Bill Gate's house for YEARS asking him for $5000 just to get my out of this hole I'm in. He earns that in a minute. I haven't heard from him.

Waitasecond there! That's how I make my EC too. Did you read my super top secret book of secrets?
Granted, I'm too impatient (or maybe even too smart) to work up to a lockbox ship that I can only use on one character. But ooh, all those rich dilithium mining claims.
I have a friend who invested money and opened 400+ lock boxes in an attempt to get both temporal ships...needless to say he did not get one...I told him he could have sold all those keys and flat out bought one off the exchange...
As I previously stated (in the OP infact) "in my past ignorance." As in, before I learned. I understand why you are opposed to someone being 'generous' enough to help me, and again I didn't come here expecting to get anything. I said countless lock boxes because I don't remember how many it was, and it was quite a few.
Yes, I did literally and figuratively throw away two very good means of getting my ship. Did you not do "stupid" things when you first started playing STO? The lockbox/lobi fail on my part happened quite a while ago.
Also, I don't see how someone giving me a ship is stupidity. It is as I said, generosity. Extream such perhaps. From where I stand, the stupidity is that due to whatever circumstance a ship that is apparently easy (albeit tedious) to get is 80 million plus EC on a public exchange. Perhaps there is a good reason for it, irrelevant.
I have helped many new players get on their feet, and gifted millions of EC to people who "needed" it over the course of my time in STO. I wanted to see if Karma would help me out a little.
Again, thank you everyone who was helpful or constructive. Your suggestions where awesome and I intend on getting my ship the old fashioned way.
For those who weren't;
I really don't see the point of being critical to the point of blatant rudeness, but you make everyone else look that much better.. so by all means, continue.

I have both ships the Wells and the Dkora. This is the thing... the Wells Sci is the better ship because of the ability to use Torp Spread 3 on a Sci Vessel. Honestly how many D'Koras do you see? There is a reason why people are not playing with them. If I could repackage mine and sell it to you I would in a heartbeat. The ship is S_L_O_W and leaves you vunerable to the new exploit attacks the klinks in Kerrat are using. The only thing is I like my own DABO table in the galley. So just because it is a lockbox ship does not mean it is any better than the stuff you can buy in the C-store. But hey, for all I know you are sporting a Ferengi toon and just want to fit in with the roleplaying crowd on Drozana.
My luck went like this open ONLY 4 boxes of one type at the time on my 26th box I got a D'Kora. My Wells Sci I bought on the exchange.... BEST money I've spent.
I dont really want the Temporal Science ship to be honest. I hear its very good, but I have the 3pack Vesta for my sci. (Yeah yeah.. another bunch of $$ that could have gotten me the ship(s))
As far as the D'kora, I just like the ship. Before my Avenger I flew an Odyssey. Before my Odyssey I flew a Galaxy X. My favorite ships in STO are the pretty and powerful. Powerful being used in this context as powerful looking.
..and yes. I have spent quite alot of $$ on C-Store ships. True, if I hadn't I would more than likely have my TD by now. However, the lock box ships are good for one character. I have several characters and another one in the process of being built. Basically it would have left my other toons having to deal with 'freebie' ships, or only having one other character with a T5 ship.

Assuming you have a stable income, why not buy one?
1) Buy Zen on from PWE (CC or Paypal recommended)
2) Use Zen to buy keys
3) Sell keys for EC on Exchange (was 1.8mil each the last time I looked)
4) Buy desired ship
Repeat until you have all the ships you are willing to pay for.
Here is me being blunt, I read your post and see you using sympathy bait with reverse psychology to head off anyone that questions you.
If you have opened so many boxes then you spent money (Zen) in the store, and there is absolutely no reason then that you could not have used that Zen to get the credits and simply buy the ship. Keep it clean and real, you opened some boxes and did not get the ship. You became upset so made a sympathy plea because you are either too lazy (or maybe don't have the time) to grind dil, or lack the money to get it faster.
You are asking for an incredibly expensive item when there are players at this moment that can not afford to sub (or buy Zen with money) so they are in lieu working hard and grinding dil to make ec and zen. Your thread is a slap to the face of those that work hard for it because you could do the same instead of posting a thread like this.
Rough response but if you want it, pony up if you got the money or work for it and stop the charity case ploy. That is my blunt and honest .02
