Looking for advice from the Fed community. I've been a player since beta and have created several vice admiral toons. I am looking to do something different and respec one of my science toons to a pvp healer, with debuffing as an alternate (SNB), with limited support in the weapons area (pure heal support). Does anyone in the community have any suggestions as to what ships to fly, and what gear best support this role. On this alt, I currently have the following ships:
- Odyssey 3-Pack
- Vesta 3-Pack
- Wells Class, no Mobius yet
- Atrox Carrier, none Fleet version
- Tholian Recluse Carrier
- Long Range Sci Vessel
- D'Kyr Sci
- Recon Sci - Mirror
- Adv Research Sci - Mirror
- Deep Space Sci Vessel
I've tested various ships, and out of all of them I seem to live longer in the Tholian Recluse Carrier, but it moves like a cinder block. I prefer the Wells due to manueverability, however I don't last long once the Klinks see I'm primarily healing. Stacking blue Field Generators and Neutronium consoles seem to help. Thought I'd check with the community to see if there are any ships-builds they are running that best support this role, before I bite the bullet and start buying purple consoles of the above stated. I know Engineer is probably the preferred route for healing, but there is something about subnuking Klinks in pvp that makes me laugh.
for fed VA, fleet nebula, wells, vesta, tholian recluse carrier or the voth palisade, fleet atrox are good pvp sci healer ships.
Tholian recluse carrier excels in pvp due to its resiliency over other ships, its boff versatility, as well as the debuffs its fighters carry. Turn rate should never be an issue for a pure healer. If you are eager for pvp, fleet equipments stats are better than non fleet equip stats.
Commander uni. Aux2Sif3/ Eng team 3/ extend shields 1. Epts1
Lt commander Science. Sci team 3/ hazard emmiter 2/ transfer shield strength 1
Lt commander eng. extend shields 2/ reverse shield polarity 1/ EPtS 1
Ensign tac. Tac team 1
Ensign sci. Transfer shield strength 1
I would also use the use the doffs to bring down your science team ability. As a debuff ear and healer it would be your job to cleans sci debuffs, need to have sci team available quickly. Also science team three because it can almost cure a escort from no shields to 75-100% shields instantly. I also run two transphasic torpedo cluster in my rear. They share a global cool of two seconds. Run on beam in the from and the rear to take use of you sub system targeting.
I would run power level like this
W:25
S:25
E:50
A:100
Or some close variation
I would also be running regenerative shields, maybe a full Borg set for the additional self heals and free tractor beam.
If you run the recluse I would run shield repair drones or Tholian frigates. APB 3 on the elite is nasty specially after a SNB.
The wells is also a good ship I have seen numerous builds that have all science BOFFs except the ensign eng. they play a strong debuffer and healer.
Thanks for the feedback! I will definitely go back and re-explore my Tholian Recluse Carrier build! Curious you mention doff cooldown Science Team, which doffs and how many should I put on duty.
