Questions about the Winter Jacket

baratgabbaratgab Member Posts: 0 Arc User
I would like to know more about the Winter Wonderland winter jackets, because I'm afraid of wasting my precious beads and bells. :)

1) Rumor has it that it can be set as a uniform, and consequently it is available for bridge officers too. Is that correct? Because the item description only mentions 'captains'.

2) Are there any customization options? As sad as it is, it seems evident that the color is fixed, because otherwise I guess it wouldn't make any sense to sell different colors. But does it have any other kind of options?

    from what I could tell...
color is set and no customizations.
however, it is a uniform slot so can be used by bridge officers.

yes they can be used on BOffs, and if you have a male char, you can still get the cropped ones to use on female boffs

There arent really any customization beyond getting a belt along with the jacket. It might benefit you waiting a couple weeks and looking on the exchange if you dont want to spend ornaments right now, the prices do generally slid lower as more flow into the exchange, and you still have over 30 days from this point

At least last year's models (black, brown and white) are available in both the uniform and the off-duty slots, which is great. The long ones have included belts (that don't work on Romulans, unless they've fixed it recently). There are no customization options for any of the pieces.

I don't have the new color versions yet, but I'd assume they are exactly the same, just different color.

Thanks for the help. :) I'll then try to wait, and see how the prices on exchange change.

Klingons can not use them with chest armour, but sashes and the Yesterday's Enterprise chest belt do work on them

they can also be used in as off-duty clothing as well with no restrictions other than the Vedek Chest piece

I was half tempted to buy the winter jacket myself but I like all my uniforms as they are and the jacket covers much of that up, I just wish they would put in some accessories slots for the captains so you could add remove things like gloves scarfs and jackets as and when you like, a bit like when you put on your ev suit, without having to hunt down the nearest tailor to do it.
lets face it I might want to wear my jacket or my scarf over my kahn uniform today and my admiral dress uniform tomorrow or not as the case may be, the current system leaves no room for this kind of flexibility.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Pretty much. My Red Long Jacket did also come with the Black Winter Jacket belt. Not a major issue, but I'd rather have had a red belt just like the matching ones with all of last year's jackets.

EDIT: And apparently all Red jackets get the Black Winter belt, as the Red Cropped I just bought came with it. Only Winter Jacket ever on that character, so it could only come from one place.

Some scarfs can't be customized either. :P But they do have very cool looking unique patterns.

Whether I choose uniform or off-duty, the winter jacket BELT is NOT appearing as an option for me to select, after i bought the winter jacket and equipped my character w/ it. (yes, i know what i'm doing)

The Black/Brown/White are nice additions to the costume choices....

but the red/green are far too garrish in color choice. It's really hard on the eyes and hurts to see it on my toon. Avoid them. Stick with the 3 usable colors, avoid the 2 unusable.

Actually a few of them can be color customized. Just not the 2012 ones, I believe.

Yeah, the new Romulan one with a pin has good customization, but the pin is always gold colored.

Which makes sense, the Fed/KDF equivalents are like that.
