Small Fleet Hits Tier 2 Goal!

I'm so happy to report that last night, I hit my goal of achieving a Tier 2 Starbase for my one-man fleet of 10 alts. I'm so happy!
When Starbases and fleets were first announced a year and a half ago, I read through all the requirements and realized that Tier 2 was about as far as I would get on my own, but that that was fine, based on the payoffs. I don't need the bigger Base with all the fleet ships available. I just wanted a reachable goal to set for myself and a decent sized Base to park my characters.
Well, I worked on it for all this time, taking time off when I'd get tired of the grind, and returning when my batteries were recharged. I made it!
The only problem I had with the entire climb to Tier 2 was the final project to actually upgrade to Tier 2. I was moving along pretty well until that last project, which required 3600 FM, 218k Dil, and 80 non-civilian officers. Wow, that was like running into a brick wall. It seems to me that the requirements for this were much tougher than anything I'd done previously.
Obviously, anything related to Tier 3 and above should be tougher to get, but making the final project for Tier 2 SO much more difficult seemed a little out of line with what had come before.
Anyway, I can now turn my attention to my Dilithium Mine. I'm at Tier 0, but hope to eventually get to Tier 2 for all the Dil discounts (and to have a place to go and watch Dil being mined).

Sounds like a really satisfying accomplishment
My 2-player fleet (consisting of my fiancee and I) is hitting T1 for all tracks this coming Sunday. It's tough but it's like starting up a business all by yourself, all the bootstrapping is fulfilling and worth it at the end of the day:)

I too am a one person fleet with all my alts... and I'm closing in on tier 2 myself.
Thanks to you, gives me hope that I can achieve it as well. And frankly.. I can use any hope right now.

Although some previous members did help out in the beginning. The last leg has been all me, with one character *yes, one character* Tactical is leading, followed by Engineering and Science. I am under no illusion to the greater cost to come. If I hit 3, it will be a miracle and half.
My son and I a short time ago completed our last Tier 3 holding and are now a level 12 fleet. Fleet mark requirements were the biggest hurdle followed closely by Dilithium.
We would have completed them earlier, but spent time upgrading our Dilithium mine to Tier 2 for the 9% discount(s), which helped take the edge off the inputs for the Starbase upgrades.
Like you we started when the bases where first released, it's been a lot of work, but gratifying seeing the results.
We haven't yet decided whether to complete the upgrades to take our Embassy to Tier 2; start the Spire projects; or push our Dilithium mine to Tier 3 for the 15% discounts.
Anything is possible, so keep up the hard work and again, congratulations.
