kdf wins, the other factions win with a new gameplay mechanic to help the ultra fragile ships,
and the aquarius loses...
anyway, this is what you need to know about the breen ship, and the flanking
The damage buff granted from Raider Flanking is similar to that gained by powers like Attack Pattern Alpha and will have a greater impact on your damage than say a Tactical +damage console.
The Plesh Brek's flanking bonus damage is +33% versus NPCs and +11% versus players.
Klingon Raider's flanking bonus damage is +25% versus NPCs and +8.25% versus players.
the aoe placate console does not make you invisible to those that it effects, they just cant target you.
Yep, between the Flanking - Tactical Advantage - the oodles upon oodles of other things that have been added, I'm actually leveling a KDF Tac to fly a BoP. Cause Cryptic's added so many things, even somebody as fail as me should probably be able to pull off a vape.
It's not going to be a change in the way I play overall, mind you - it's just too much fun flying around with Willard and being a Rat. :P
But yeah, I haven't flown a ship in that manner in over a year...will be interesting to see.

Is it just me or does that Breen Raider seem like another ship that most people will use for an hour and put away like the Risian Corvette? I don't see myself wanting to do that race everyday for a ship that has low hull and no cloak when I can use a fleet hohsus or a warbird instead.
At least my Hohsus will be fun though, haven't used it much since double tap nerf.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
They could have added a 5th front weapon, so that raiders no longer have only 6 weapons. However, they choose this option, which is more fun in my view. You would be forced to actually steer a bit.
Oh well, as a Norgh captain, I will be happy with the boost.

Havent really ever used them myself but is JS1 or SS1 an option?
Jam and SS are good choices, especially if you have both consoles equipped, as you get a nice boost to your Countermeasures skill, which improves the placate effect from the Plesh Brek's console. Add in one or more CMS consoles (including your spec if you choose) and you can get a pretty impressive SS 1 or 2 going.
On the topic of BoPs and stealth detection, is it even worth running +stealth sci consoles? I'm preparing my new Fleet Norgh for glorious battle.
I've tried running them in the past. They will help against most players running most ship types. But get even a decent sci ship running moderately high aux and the tier 3 Nebula console, and you will quickly be seen and most likely de-cloaked. Sometimes a person doesn't even need the Nebula console.
Better off using your sci consoles for something else of your choosing.

This. I fly exclusively BoPs in PvP, and I use my sci slots for field generators (to compensate for the low shield mod, etc) and my Assimilated console. Maybe 2 Field Generators is a bit much, I dunno. If they released a shield resistance boosting console, I'd put that on in a heartbeat. More shield HP doesn't keep uber-powered players from flensing the shields off you. As it is, the Field Generators are the only thing I can think of. Every other console for sci or eng just boosts hull resistance, and I already carry 1-2 neutroniums.
Havent really ever used them myself but is JS1 or SS1 an option?
Thanks guys
It was mostly idle curiousity, tbh, but it might've been funny if it worked. Never used MES in all this time. But definitely sounds like countermeasures would be the way to go, then (or just a second EPtX and slugging it out, for that matter).

Depending on your choices, you can't go wrong with an EPTW 1. It's a nice boost in damage. Or of course, the previously mentioned other abilities.
It's a shame MES isn't useful. I know it isn't meant to be a way to obsolete a cloak or anything, but it'd be nice if it was actually worth using.

It really is. I might've considered it for a Fed offensive sci build, otherwise, maybe. Dunno. It could've been a fun skill to get a tiny tactical advantage in positioning or something.
As for the Breen raider, I might not actually get it on any but 1 or 2 of my characters. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense for my Fed's with the (fleet) MVAE and Defiant available, or my KDF's, with access to all but the fleet B'rel. Might be an interesting alt ship for my Romulan tac, offering a warp core option, though I doubt it'd be a good rival for my fleet Dhelan. We'll see.

I wouldn't count it out just yet, however unfortunately countering it is woefully easy. Sci ship + high aux.
Still I can see VD testing it out a bit more than I did last night with pokey but like I say, I wouldn't count it out just yet though it is so very nearly useless.
Am I the only one who is going to be surprised when feds can't figure out how to fly the ship , ask for more weapons and ask for a built in cloak more hull and more shields ?

its a high risk, high reward type of thing
Am I doing it right? :P

@rudiefix Feds: Rudiefix / Thron / Opa
@rudiefix KDFs: Lill / Xifeidur / Dehr / Ugly

To those of you who say that there's too much crew on it to be a fighter or that its too large I say, you obviously haven't been doing fighters right.
Long time BoP pilot here. I seem to have a redundant Ensign situation here. MES anyone? :P
Sillyness aside, would the Romulan captain and boff traits buff MES1 to a level that's actually useful?
I know VD did some MES/Romulan maths, but I can't find it anymore...
Not really.
MES 1, even with 135 Aux, a Stealth bonus from a BOFF, and max stealth in your skill tree will still let you be seen from pretty far away.
It can be good if you are wanting to at least prepare your alpha or just get into a good position, but it's not super-effective.
Havent really ever used them myself but is JS1 or SS1 an option?
R.I.P
