"Free" Remans

A quick question.

I have read on the wiki, and I am taking it with a tone of salt, that you can unlock the Reman race by completing all 5 tiers of the New Romulus reputation system but I didn't find this anywhere in the game.

So is this true?

    Ya this is true, on one of your existing characters you need to have your Romulan Republic reputation at Tier 5, once the the Claim Tier 5 reputation project is completed you should have access to Remans as playable characters (you of course do need a free character slot to be able to use it)

    This is confirmed, it is how I got to use my reman.

    ah so thats why its unlocked. nice of cryptic to slip that one in there. maybe this will be an on going thing unlocking new playable races once a rep is maxed out.

    that info is just as old as when the xp came out on sto a while back. fortunately i had some z store coins on hand by the time LoR was installed and got the reman race as soon as. was not gonna grind for it.

    normally if you buy the playable Reman unlock you get two ship materials that can also be used by Romulan captains on your account.

    i have a Romulan captain and i kinda want those ship materials.

    sooo...do you get them with this rep unlock of playable Remans ? :eek:

    also if anyone knows if they work on a Tal Shiar Adapted Destroyer that would be lovely to know also...that's what i kinda want to go for...but, sadly like so many customization options, i'm unsure if it will actually work....

    Yep, you sure do get the materials with it. I don't think it would work with the Tal Shiar destroyer though. All lobi/lockbox ships come with their own materials and can't use any others. At least that's how it is on my JHDC and temporal shuttles. I can't use any other materials or the vet material I have.

    thanks for the answer :) even if its not what id have preferred to hear :(

    kind of bummed out now...borg shield looked TRIBBLE on it too and that was my initial aim...the Reman ship materials were a fall back idea...i don't like its shiny finish atm and wanted it to look more matt and Borg-y...

    One thing on the unlock, if you had T5 before the release of LoR, you need to run a project to completion once in order for it to 'register' the change.
