i was reading a thread and someone said you used to be able to Respec your skill tree with EC or some form of respecing was this true? and why would it be taken out?
so because i accidentally placed 1 skill point into a total useless skill for a tactical officer i have to live with it or fork up the $ or farm the dilth for 500 zen to respec 1 point?
i sent in a support ticket but i doubt they'll be willing to either place the point into the skill i wanted to or refund the point entirely.
i know it's a bit of a whine but there should be atleast something other than paying $ or farming 500 zen worth of dilth to some what respec your skill tree.
just mad because im either going to have to delete and restart (already had to do it once since i had no idea what i was doing) or quit all together and hope they do a mass free respec.
and before you guys go off and say "they gotta make money" well SWTOR lets you respect free once a week and cost Credits if you want to respec again which increases each attempt.

Cryptic is awful stingy with respec tokens. Yeah other MMO's offer a free respec per number of days and it works but what you will get with STO is buy a token to get that point back.
What would be nice is a respec 1 skill only a month for EC or just free for all it matters and the token to wipe the slate clean in one shot.
My advice for you... if it is just 1 point... Ignore it and live with it. 1 point is not worth the token or even worrying about.

Yes, please. Skill respec for EC (or time gated free ones) are the only sensible thing to do. Offering respecs for real money (eventually) is just wrong. That's what keeping me from playing another alt.

Wasn't EC, the cost was Expertise at the time.
And the change happened long before F2P went live. Think they implemented the change around Season 2. Was a big deal with the PvPers since they reskilled many times for the different ships they felt like flying.
Why it was taken out? Dunno, my guess one way to make a profit off players. Though I seem to recall players were upset that expertise cost was great, and it was hard to replenish it. Ironically like now with Reputation and Fleet Projects.
But given the abundance of EC now, I highly doubt they would, unless it was really costly, like millions of EC worth. Though given the Trait and Reputation Respect Tokens in the Dilithum Store, surprised Captain Respect tokens isn't included.

This. I wouldn't mind this at all i was wondering why respec tokens weren't up for dilth with the other 2 i would of been totally fine with it and pressed on till lvl 50 and then farm dilth.
tbh i don't see why silvers don't get 1 respec token at lvl 50 at least... the rewards for reaching it alone is slim to none.
