I have a questions about skill points and gear that give points towards skills.

If I have rank 9 of Starship Shield Systems which is 99points. Then I have a item that gives me +12 to Starship Shield Systems, does it add to it? Does it make Starship Shield Systems to 111? If so where can I see that stats increased?

Make sure you are in a location you can full impulse. Earth Space dock orbit (not sirius sector space)

Open your char sheet and look under Skill Based Stats: Space. Itll be about 1/3 of the way down under Science Stats

And yes, it will stack to 111 in your example.

I believe that skills don't work on a linear progression. The more points you put into a skill, the less value each point gives. So you will get 112 points, but it won't give the same amount of benefit that going from 0 to 12 will give.
