Sub-forums, maybe an online trade exchange?

Say, I was wondering.

I think it would be nice if we could get an extra sub-forum here at the official forum site for a swap-meet.

Basically a place for people to arrange trades and meet-up times.

Say, for example, if I wanted to trade my box of Obelisk carrier for a D'Kora, I could post "WTT: Obelisk for D'Kora" and anybody could post in the thread and arrange a meet-up time in-game.

I searched to see if anybody had mentioned this, but any form of search which contained the words "swap" or "exchange" returned too many results to be useful.

Crazy? Bad idea? Board would be too crowded?

    what's wrong with just selling your unwanted items on the exchange and buying what you want, at least with this method you are sure that there will be a mostly fair exchange as the item you want to get rid of might be worth far less to other players then the item you want or vice versa.

    When I think about everything we've been through together,

    maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

     and if that journey takes a little longer,

    so we can do something we all believe in,

     I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

    Well for one because the exchange is bugged right now?

    Also it's hard to gauge the actual price of certain high end items, for example Reman boffs with Superior Infiltrator has had huge price swings simply because the doff mission for them is so darn rare, sometimes I'll see a couple with people undercutting each other and other times a drought with only one at an exorbitant price when I try to sell mine. And stuff I'd like to buy function the same way, a trade forum would be hugely helpful for those of use who deal in these kinds of items.

    Oh and an obelisk for a d'kora is a horrible trade ;) Even if you mean the adv obelisk

    The exchange doesn't always sell something.

    IIRC the current player to player trading system makes it way too easy to get scammed. If that was corrected, I'd say a Buy Sell Trade forum would be a good idea.

    I'd have thought an in-game channel would work better. Have it moderated and people could just post 'will swap X for Y' on it y'know?

    Yeah, that's a good idea too.

    But I think a forum would be better because it would allow people in different time zones & work /school schedules could set up a trade.
