Star Trek Enterprise Foundry

I think a great Foundry setting would be to take various missions that Archer and the crew of Enterprise conducted from T.V. series and turn them into playable missions.

Not only would we get to interact with era of Federation history along the timeline we would be able to build an independent timeline that branches from the main timeline through the many novels and comics that accompanied the series, which I feel was a mistake to be taken off of the air.

Although I did not watch many of the Enterprise shows, which I should catch up on this Winter, the ones that I did watch were very well written and acted out...especially along the lines of T'Pol....
One episode, Storm Front I and II would be especially awesome to interact with because you would get to dress up in 1940's style clothes and battle against the TRIBBLE's and their alien sympathizers in order to restore the time line.

Star Trek Enterprise Foundry would definitely be worth the effort to create either by members of STO or as a persistent environment developed by Perfect World.

Porthos definitely gives a paw up for this happen.

Just a couple of cautionary points, you can base your missions upon or expand upon an episode, but you can't copy it. Secondly, you can't replicate the likeness of any actor from the show such as Scott Backula or Jolene Blalock.

Those aside, good luck and I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Let us know if you have any questions. :)

I make .levels for Homeworld 2 using various programs and love running through player made content.

How difficult would it be to develop a Foundry Mission where agents from a new sector of space have created a time line rift between Federation zones of history that when Federation teams from both era's cross over into the rift they encounter each other and begin to wage war on what they think is a double of theirselves which drives both sides completely mad?

The only way to end the war and seal the rift is too locate the alien agents and uncover their base where the mind device is sending signals through the various communications arrays that are not able to be heard but slowly drive the crews and members of the Federation into ragefull venegence when they see their double. Once the mind device has been located your crew would then have to find the alien base itself and either destroy them completely or force them to escape back into their sector of uncharted and unexplored space.

^It wouldn't be easy (you'll need to learn a lot about triggers, for starters), but nothing you've talked about is forbidden or impossible. We have access to ENT, TOS, etc. costumes and character names, but not the actors.

making a "double" of the player character isn't possible, and I'm not sure that would have the same impact if the double is of an NPC. Otherwise, this sounds like a cool idea, maybe you could turn it into a fanfic.

Are the triggers similar to The Unity Game Engine where you establish a sphere collider around an object and when another objects sphere collider comes into contact with the sphere collider of the first object then the script performs an action such as causing damage to occur, the objects to bounce off each other in a random direction at a random velocity or a map change?

Here is another possible scenario that would be fun to build and then run.

    http://www.nbcnews.com/science/spacex-wins-nasas-nod-take-over-historic-launch-pad-39a-2D11741834

The premise for the Foundry Mission is once again Time Travel where enemy agents seeking to stop the birth of Star Fleet go into Earths past to disrupt the fledgling space exploration efforts of the 21st century.

With Space X purchasing the launch pad that was used to launch shuttles from the era of privateering space will take another giant leap forward. Because Space X has its own launch facility means that private firms and individuals will be able realize their space exploration dream could come true instead of burning up on the pad because the government wouldn't allow private companies to launch their own rockets from the facility.

The enemy agents against Star Fleet would go into the past to disrupt the commercialization of space by covertly attacking cargo shipments, facilities and personel dedicated to using Space X new launch facility to usher in a new era of space exploration.

Star Fleets and its allies would be tasked with sending their agents back in time to stop the enemy agents from attacking Space X facilities and key personel from launching the first automated remote Kuiper Belt mining station that leads to breakthroughs including material research, human habitats in space, engines and space craft designs which eventually lead to the first Starship Class being designed that allows humans to leave the Sol System.

If the enemy agents are not stopped they will be able to alter the course of history forever where Starfleet would not be a menace and Earth would become just another enslaved planet.

    SHEN!
