Hey BranFlakes, since it looks like you're on at the moment, lets see if you can answer a question.
Since we, the players basically get the same STO Launcher, to start STO (after running the ARC Gauntlet) why does ARC need to remain running? Seriously, the ARC chat is useless (only play STO, and only chat I use is Fleet Channel/Fleet Cross faction Channel).
Everything in ARC is useless, except having to use it to actually log into STO.
Use's space, and runs for literally no reason. There's no purpose for it to run, yet, closing ARC down, closes STO as well. Why?
why do you need steam running to run any game on steam? or origin to run any game you have to use it to launch games with? because thats how they are set up, there are overlays that you can bring up in the game that let you do things with them without closing/alt-tabbing out of the game.
The answer is that the Cryptic/STO launcher is eventually going to be phased out and replaced by Arc, so it will be a one-step process. They just haven't gotten that far yet.
...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.
