What is a Fed zombie build?

Curious, as I'm playing the quest in Karrat, I keep hearing the klink pvp'ers say "damn I hate you and your zombie build?" Can someone enlighten me on what the heck a zombie build is, is it an aux2bat build? While I actually don't see the fight cause its happening somewhere off screen, it's always popping up in chat. What Fed ships are they flying and what the skill spec look like? Is it any different than an aux2bat build? thx

I'm really no seasoned PvPer, though I assume a "zombie" is a (indestructible) tanking cruiser and people don't like shooting stuff that doesn't die ;)

Essentially it's a ship(cruiser typically) that is unkillable but can not dish out any damage.

So you come across a wall that can't be knocked down, unless you are assisted, but isn't a threat to you.
    Chive on and prosper, eh?

    Zombie Build...

    Aux2Batt, EmPWR2AUX, RSP
Or some variation of this combo.

Then if you combine with a good batter loadout.....

It basically keeps you alive (the Aux2Batt) give near full power to Weps, shields and engines for a limited time.

The RSP also takes some energy dmg and coverts it into shield health.

After using Aux2Batt, pop an AUX battery or EMpwr2AUX to have near full power in Wep/SH/Eng/Aux

Any heals with be substatial in that mode...basically you can save yourself from immenent death using this combo...and their cooldown is pretty low for such a powerful combo...

Feel free to correct my logic if I'm off base on this one...

Interesting.... what class is this geared towards, can I assume engineer or sci. Cruiser type, im guessing a cruiser with a high shield modifer, i.e., 1.3, 1.15, etc. I heard a lot of players saying that Galors are really good when it comes to unkillable due to the boff loadout and shield modifier, coupled with the borg space set due to the regen abilities.

I'm actually not going to say you are right or wrong taylor, but i would like to post a build to see if anyone knows how it would stack up against an A2B.

    http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?build=eptbuild_0

Is how i used to set up my eng cruisers in the past. I tried adding up some numbers a few weeks ago and i included them below. But they might be lower cause they may not take into account increases from skills. Also when i looked at these numbers a few weeks ago, i had two copies of EPTW3 and two copies of EPTS1. If you were to flip those around and run EPTW1 and EPTS3 instead you could get a little bit more damage reduction. And lastly the numbers dont factor in a plasmonic leech. So with a plasmonic leech aux and engine could be made to run a little bit higher.

    -constant 16.6% damage buff
-constant 18% damage reduction to shield buff
-weapon and shield power level at 125 and 125 constantly due to EPTS/W cycling
-engine and aux power level = 43 and 40 normally, but with EPT cycling it fluctuates between 53 and 50 or 63 and 60 depending on which EPT power i just popped. This is due to the EPS efficiency proc.

Remember the above figures are old and do not have a plasmonic leech and the damage buff and reduction are from EPTS1 and EPTW3.

Im no pro with the zombie build, but I have loaded a boff with the skills Ive mentioned.

    EmPWR2AUX1
    AUX2Batt 1
    RSP2
    Battery: AUX or Dual Batt-AUX/Engines

It is pretty nasty...can be down to 10% Hull, 10% shields, and with the proper sequence, you can be back at 50%-50% within 5-10 secs or less.

Use your Heals after poping the Aux battery, and the results are pretty mind blowing..
I believe its about 40secs between cycles (except the Battery pack) -> Just use EMpwr2Aux in that case.

I've been called a zombie before, but my build was nothing special. Like others have said it's basically a ship that is dedicated to tanking so cannot dish out much damage. I never knew was the name of a specific build.

The only thing i dont like about an A2B tank build is that although you will be running at max weapon, shield and engine power it doesnt get the resistance bonus you get from EPTS/W. With cycling EPTW>S>W>S you will have a continous damage resistance buff and the damage increase buff. The only break would come because of the GCD /activation delay system that the game has. So thats a break of about 1-2 seconds on your damage reduction/damage increase buffs.

A subnuc would throw the rotation out of whack on a EPTS/W/S/W build but i think that would happen on a A2B build as well. But i guess with the shorter A2B cooldowns you can get you energy levels back up a lot faster then the EPT's 30 second durations between copies.

Warp Core Engineer doff. With it equipped it will clear a nuke when activating an emergency power. My Aux2batt Avenger is no zombie. I will thank you if I can activate my GDF + APA at the same time.

I was getting ready to ask about the avenger class, does this work? I heard the shield/hull rate is really low.

Avenger can be tanky (particular guy from my fleet you should talk to about that) but it's really designed more around offense than defense. Not a good ship for an indestructium build.

I wouldn't pay attention to the chatter too much in Kerrat. My main is a sci in a FHEC and I was told I had a zombie build. I run 2 peice borg with fleet elite shields, with my sci and eng boffs dedicated to heals. The FHEC is far from a DPS machine, so I guess I kind of qualify.

I really think "zombie" really just refers to my 20 second duration RSP, which I have only as a way to negate the decloak + alpha cowardly tactic. Often I'll just hit evasive and RSP to avoid all the cheese console TRIBBLE and ignore my attacker all together. If I'm not so concerned about farming I'll turn and subnuc them, and they run in terror.

Pretty much only die when ganged up on, or when they capitalize on me already being damaged by the borg. Got to love the Klingon's sense of honor...

I agree with Taylor here. Lets not ruin this in favor of avoiding offending a fictional race. If we did offend them, what could they possibly do that we would be afraid of?

This is very interesting... The added resistances part...
Was not aware there was a corresponding res bonus when using ep2w, epts...good to know thank you.

the thing i highlighted in red is really not true...aux2batt builds run EPtW and EPtS both simultaniously with 100% uptime too.
