I'm writing this post for those of you who enjoy the duty officer aspect of the game but may not be aware of the benefits of being a member of a fleet in relation to the duty officer system. I'm going to rattle off points that come to mind at random and I'm probably going to miss a few, but here are some of the main points important to me:
3 (three) extra doff assignment slots. As the fleet embassy is leveled up extra assignment slots can be purchased. Fleet embassies max out at tier 3, one assignment opening up for purchase per tier. They require fleet credits which are earned as you contribute to your fleet projects. I can't currently find the fleet credit cost to purchase the extra assignment slots, but if iirc its 1,000, 10,000 and 100,000 credits.
Also available in the embassy as the tiers increase are uncommon, rare, and very rare romulan duty officers and bridge officers. The duty officers are security officer, research lab scientist, and transporter officer. I started an assignment earlier (support colonization of this or that nebula or expanse) and one of the purple rom doffs has 3 crit traits.
The cost of the doffs are 7,500, 25,000, and 125,000 fleet credits for uncommon, rare, and very rare, respectively.
The bridge officers available can be pretty nice too, but on top of the 40,000, 80,000, and 160,000 fleet credit cost for uncommon, rare and very rare is also a 10,000, 20,000, and 40,000 dilithium cost as well.
Another part of the embassy that I like are the ground kits. As with the doff and boffs different mk kits are available for purchase as the embassy levels up. They costs are 15,000, 30,000 and 60,000 fleet credits for mk X, XI, and XII respectively with an additional 3,360, 6,720, and 13,440 dilithium as well.
And yet another nice feature is the discount commodity vendor. Just as you can purchase certain commodities (medical supplies, provisions, shield generators, etc) at a discount from cargo vessels and certain npc's, the more expensive commodities that they don't offer a discount for can be purchased at your fleet embassy at a discounted price. Don't want to fly to New Romulus every time you need a batch of stem bolts or warp coils? You can take the fleet shuttle to and from your embassy and starbase once the appropriate tier is reached.
And these are just a few of the benefits. There is a multitude of benefits available from the starbase and the dilithium mine, to include 2 unique assignments and 27 (twenty seven) more duty officers of uncommon, rare, and very rare quality from the mine alone. I used the starbase to purchase unpacked rare duty officers and mailed them to my new Fed aligned Reman to help level up and earn more cxp faster.
So, looking for a fleet?
The 349th Assault Task Force is recruiting. We are a casual Federation fleet with about 200 members, a tier 3 starbase, t3 embassy and t2 dilithium mine.
349th Marauders is looking for new warriors as well. The KDF fleet is not quite as far along as the Fed fleet, but all good things come to those with blood wine, honor, courage, and commitment!
The 349th Warbird Battalion is a Fed aligned Romulan Republic fleet. We are currently looking for displaced romulans and remans who want to join a community they can call home.
We can all be found by using the in game social tab and searching for a fleet, by replying to this posting, or by sending me a message in game
@mikec1013.
Good luck and have fun!

Which means you don't have to have any fleet privileges to buy them. In fact, you don't even have to be a member of a fleet to buy them- just invited to the fleet map. You will need fleet credits, though, lots of them for the slots and purple doffs.
An active fleet of DOffers will help each other with bridge invites, etc. Basically a fleet-only version of DOffjobs that should be (theoretically at least) a lot more "focused" on the helping aspects... :P
Due to this "critical" omission, I, too believe that this is not a benefits post with a sub-message, but...
To rob a line: [quote: Mariemaia Kushrenada] Forum Posting is much like an endless waltz. The three beats of war, peace and revolution continue on forever. However, opinions will change upon the reading of my post.[/quote]
This is a good point, thank you. While I am in a fleet, I tend to play at off hours and am frequently online alone. The benefits I listed can help anyone at anytime. And I don't think anyone else in my fleet is as much into the doff system as I am. I remember I once offered an invite to Reclaim Borg Drones and one asked if it was ground or space.
OK, so perhaps these are benefits of joining my fleet. If you you're not a member of any fleet, these are ideas to consider. My 3 Fed toons are running 23 active assignments without sickbay. My KDF only 21 and my Reman only 20. That drives me nuts. If I was only running 20 at a time and knew I could add 3 more, I'd look for a fleet. Thankfully, I've already found a good one. Perhaps you have now too?
