Anyone want to take a stab at what the heck this thing is possibly? I was thinking it was floatsom debris deep down in the sea but that lasted about 1 minute before realizing that this thing was organic, alive, and moving in ways far too organic.
Did something from the Ediacaria Biota survive the Cambrian Explosion and the last 500 million years down there? O_O

Jellyfish type creature named for afterbirth, actually, so two points. It was ID'd by experts to be most likely Deepstaria reticulum. One of the common names for Deepstaria jellyfish is "placental jellyfish."
But yeah, looks like a fat Jellyfish.
