I liked Drake's appearance in this, I'm sure the rumours of his demise are somewhat exaggerated
Drake could be shot down in front of my eyes, and I wouldn't believe he was dead until I'd fed his body into the antimatter reactor myself. And even then, I'd keep one eye open...

Yup, and even then, I'd still assume it was one of his doubles
Wow. And here I thought I'd be hearing you've-gone-way-off-base-again-with-your-improvisational-writing-style comments. Nope.
Like Chapter 3, I got surprised by what happened in Chapter 4. I honestly thought Drake would be there on Nukara. Then Rez reports that Drake got killed at ESD and Drake's body is undergoing an autopsy (whose results I'm still not sure of, but can't forget about it). And where in the world did Tsalene (the Tholian female) beam in from? Maybe from the Granville? That will have to be thought about. And if Tholians are hermaphroditic, why "she"? I figured that if the Borg was ruled by a Queen, why not the Tholians too? And what set off the first revolution underground on Nukara? Maybe just a power struggle that spiraled out of control and in the process cost the life of the queen before Tsalene? Maybe the faction that killed the old queen wanted Tsalene as queen instead? Or maybe an outside non-Tholian group was responsible? What sort of power struggles are there within the Tholian Assembly? And then there's the Typhon Pact. It's still active, but is it a bit on the fragile side? Is the alliance that signed it too easy to shatter? (Shatter. An apt way of putting since we're talking about Tholians.) Maybe. In any case, it's something that Drake would definitely have been (or still is) interested in. Did he "die" because there'd been too much attention on what he was up to? So far, we have four groups in this, each with their own ulterior motives and plans: the Federation (Section 31 specifically), the Tholians, the Borg, and the Romulans. Which begs the question: what in the world does all this have to do with K'Mara (and Four of Twelve)? Need to think about all this *before* starting on Chapter 5.
I'm going to keep the above paragraph and use it for further brainstorming when I feel healthy/strong enough to start work on Chapter 5. Been sick since Christmas Night and still recovering. So no creative work. Just spending time resting and (whenever possible and nothing too strenuous) STO.
To those continuing to read this story as it evolves/develops, thank you. To those like marcusdkane who have done far more than just read it, but given me the feedback/corrections/information/brainstorming/moral support that I needed, I cannot give deep enough thanks. I believe that it is a rare creative artist that has a strong/healthy sense of self. The rest of us are less fortunate and depend on others to shore us up when we feel like we're ready to collapse at a moment's notice.
Story update: I've managed the first 10 pages of Chapter 5 today, despite still recovering from an almost week-long illness (a rather unpleasant one that needs no details here). Apparently creativity doesn't care about a person's health. If a person is just healthy enough to create, that's good enough. 100% healthy is best, true, but not always realistically possible. I look forward to seeing what I can do with this story once I'm back at 100%. In the meantime, it's hard to tell (for me) that I'm physically sick and churning these pages out. I'm going to stay away from both STO and the story tonight, so I can get as much rest as possible. And then see what tomorrow brings. With any luck, I won't wake up in the middle of the night with more of Chapter 5 in my head, impatiently waiting for me to type it up. But if it does, it does. C'est la vie.
I like the sound of those  Hope you're feeling better soon
Slowly feeling better. But being cautious with assessments like "I think it's mostly over".
Btw, title #3 just popped into my head (like #1 and #2 did), but this time I decided to do some research into it via Wikipedia. I thought it came from something like a medieval church history (like the one by Eusebius) or someone like John Keats coined it. Nope to both. Cicero thought of it back in ancient Rome. So I got to learn something new (for me, anyway) that was already over 2000 years old.

Bon nuit.
Book 1: In Media Res ("In the Middle of Things")
Book 2: Terrae Incognitae ("Unknown Lands")
Book 3: Summum Bonum ("The Highest Good")
It was fun thinking up Latin titles for them, since the Romulan Empire is supposed to be based on the ancient Roman Empire.
Cheers!
