Is Season 8 live after maintenance today?

Just wondered because when I started the launcher just now I started to download this massive update, so I was wondering if anyone knows if we get to kill Voth and check out the Dyson Sphere when the server comes back? :eek:

    Season 8 isn't live on holodeck til Nov 12 . the patching your seeing now is just a pre patching for season 8 . so when it goes live you've less to patch in .

    Ok thanks for the response, how do you get to play in holodeck server? I assume that is the testing server. As you can tell I am still fairly new to STO... :confused: :cool:

    Holodeck is the main ( live ) server . Redshirt and Tribble are both testing servers . Hopefully that clarrifes for you , and Welcome to Sto . :)

    General:

    Sphere of Influence can now be started on New Romulus.
    Once the mission is accepted, it can be started at the Embassy door in the Staging Area.
    Captains can now sit in the captain's chair on the bridge of the Obelisk.
    Captains will now be placed in the Jouret system after completing Sphere of Influence.

    I think I got it all straight now, thanks to all replies, also one of my favorite things about the Sphere of Influcence mission was the "engage" emote your character does when its time to take the Obelisk ship through the gate! Would have been cooler though if we had been sitting in the captains chair and then stood up to give the command! :D
