Omni-Directional Anti-Proton Beam Array

If your looking for an excellent weapon to defend against those annoying Siphon Drones first complete the Mission involving Mr. Wolf.

Once finished you will receive some nice items that can't be used until the rank of Rear Admiral has been achieved.

One weapon however the Omni-Directional Anti-Proton Beam Array can be used on any ship.

It is an excellent weapon to use because it has 360 degree firing arc as well as being able to track multiple targets at once.

Once the Siphon Drones have been deployed simply fire the weapon and it will destroy up to two of the closest drones on the first shot.

    mr. Wolf = ambassador worf?

and honestly the weapon isn't that great...not usefull on an escort with cannons, and not usefull on a broadsiding beam cruiser...

however, if you happen to have a sci vessel with antiproton DBB up front, this weapon is excellent as a rear weapon.

Keep in mind that the 2p set bonus of the Obelisk set grants you 10% + AP damage. This can make up for the slightly lower dps of the beam.

I think I just figured out what the OP meant to say: The Omni-Directional Anti-Proton Beam Array is level-scaling, and so can be used even if you are level 10.

It keeps increasing damage as you level, so should be a great accessory for leveling chars. Though, I don't think there are AP tac consoles below MK IX(if even that low), but since going mixed-energy is less of an issue at lower levels, it's worthwhile to cart around.

At 50, it probably becomes worthwhile for the two-piece bonus even on cannon builds with the 10% bonus to all weapons, pending you have enough AP weapons to offset the DPS drop for that spot. I find it handy to rear mount on JHDC with cannons, since the subsystem targeting works through it.

Honestly, I've been enjoying it, and I've only ended up with less than 900 in terms of DPS difference, instead of a regular turret that is. This also gives me something for that third tac slot, so it's not so "useless".

Now to upgrade to Anti-proton...this will be expensive...

    That's how I read it.

warp core is level 40 onwards only or at least is on KDF toons. For my main STF toon though in the Escort running full AP wepons I have thrown on this beam and the warp core and still kick borg into next week.

Still waiting to be able to use forum titles

We do, it's just split between two sets of weapons, instead of being split by different phaser strips.

I have a T4 Galaxy that uses a full set of Fleet AP Arrays up front, an AP array in the back, along with the Omni-Directional with the Warp Core for the bonus. It also uses the KCB and the Assimilated Console for the bonus.

This thing has a ton of firepower. It's a little weaker from directly behind, but for most of the forward firing arc, this thing is damned strong. Especially for only having two Blue XI AP Mag Regulator consoles.

It's awesome. It is kinda squishy for a cruiser, but like I said, T4 Galaxy. I love it.

You almost make me want to get my dreadnought out of spacedock! I've got to do that mission 30 times to get both pieces for my fifteen toons but I like the set bonus too.

Warp core looks cute for 2nd set-bonus. But I keep wondering whether that combo can really out-DPS a decent Elite [Amp] core. My guess is not.

It's not a bad alternative to use until you max rep and/or get enough fleet credits to purchase fleet cores.

Haha, I also fly a Dreadnought, but it's a phaser boat. If you ever see a Galaxy with red-ish stripes called "U.S.S. Crimson's Fury" spamming AP beams, say Hi to me!

I've been running one of my Avengers with full AP setup with the Borg console KCB and AP Omni beam in rear with a fleet AP . 2 Fleet dual beam and 2 fleet beam arrays and an Omega Torp in front. it is not a super DPS ship tho vs Borg it is.... but PVP it still can pack a real can of whoop TRIBBLE. Fire at will I and II and beam overload I and III and torpedo spread II and torpedo heavy I. all said she can hit very well.

My Plasma /Romulan set fleet MVAE hits harder..... but I still like the AP setup

OK...so far I know that Borg Cutting Beam works with Anti-proton.
The questions is about the new buildable beams: can we have like 1 plasma and 1 tetryon ?

Meaning...are they exclusive by type only ?

As far as I know you can have one of each type if you so desire. But I never actually tested it ^^'

You can have only one Omni-Directional Beam Array per ship, last I heard, regardless of base energy type.

Can have 3 of them the newest one is in DR. I mean 3 different types of ODBA or 2 for now.

Actually you can have the cutting beam and the Omni-ap from the sphere mission, I use them both on my AC.

What I was wondering is if you could also include the crafted one as well with the sphere version.

Plus now I here there is another story based one in DR.

So are we looking at 4? or still only 3?

For Holodeck, I just confirmed that you cannot use a crafted Phaser Omni-Directional Beam Array with the Anti-Proton Omni-Directional Beam Array from the mission on Holodeck currently. The Kinetic Cutting Beam will stack with either, of course, apparently my wording did not convey that earlier.

Thank you, was debating on buying an Omni from the exchange (crafted) but now will not as I will just upgrade the story one.
