    Cryptics has used that Ferengi collector in the past to phase out old consoles and items that are otherwise "removed" from the game. These items become prototype items, and they may be exchanged with the Ferengi collector for a full refund. Cryptic most recently did this when they decreased the base damage on the Andorian phaser weapons in the dilithium store. They changed all existing weapons to "prototype" weapons, allowing players the option of refunding their dilithium.
