I wanted to post this simple becuase I know Cyrptic has tried hard to make the game as realistic as posible yet you leave a few issuses to be adressed Ive nvr seen a move where ships stand still in shoot not move at all not in 1 single episode not in 1 single movie yet allowing tactle officers to do the most damage just sitting in park isnt star trek realistic. I would seguest a debuff if not at full impulse then maybe 50% damage reduction or increase in damage recieved. You have a very serious hatedred towards science officers with reguards that only 2 maybe 3 ships have a 4th skill slot for science bridge offers; You constantly intraduce more material but i see a major flaw in the fact that the game is loopsided too many of 1 class ( Tacticle officers ) You cant have a balanced game if 1 class is to over powered to the other 2 classes. I recomend that you evaluate the damge of skills maybe increase sci skills or nerf taticle skills to balance the game play. A balanced game would bring you more income from zen ships being bought just have 1 class dominate the dps of the all the other 2 classes isn't really ecomonical for you. I only wanted to make this observation know what you do with it is up to you.

    I have seen many episodes where the ship shoots and does not move. Watch more tng; before cgi became the system of choice for space combats in trek. You will see many instances where the galaxy shoots while sitting still.

    You haven't watched a lot of TNG, I take it: most of their combat sequences had the Enterprise-D at a full stop relative to the enemy vessel or vessels and frequently had two capital ships sitting nose-to-nose.

    Guessing English isn't the OP's native language, so apologies if I've misread, but you seem to be saying that;

    (1) Unmoving ships somehow should do less damage.

    Considering the weapon systems on the ships use the same power source as the engines, it could be argued that if anything the opposite should be true (although I'd hate to see that implemented, personally, unless you also add a defense debuff for being a stationary target), i.e, less power to the engines equals more power available for energy weapons. It could also be counter-debated that the system we have for adjusting power-levels represents this situation adequately.

    (2) Tactical captains and/or escort ships should be nerfed because you can't set your ship up to do similar amounts of damage.

    As has been said many times before, by many different people, please stop screaming for someone else's playstyle to be nerfed because you don't have the patience or skill to set your ship up correctly. Try different combinations of equipment/BOFFs/Captain builds. Failing that, you could always try making a Tac char yourself if you want to have the same experience as the players who you're trying to have penalised.

    STO is NOT a cookie-cutter game. Unlike certain other titles out there *coughWOWcough*. That is one of the best things about this game.
    ***The above ramblings are, as always, my own opinion. Based on my experiences and interpreted by my mind, they by no means reflect the universal truth (unless coincidentally). Peace.***

    True.
    If I may add, I read this not so long ago:

    Defense is derived from several sources:
    Your ship's speed - The faster that you travel, the greater your Defense rating, up to a maximum Defense at an Impulse speed of 24.00 (NOTE: Being stopped at Impulse speed 0.00 will give your ship a -15% Defense penalty.)

    Just one more broken-assed thing to pop up on this craptastic board written with top teir Failcode.

    A ProBoards hackjob would be better than this. At least the quote system would be reliable and keep posts in their place.

    These are seriously the worst forums I've ever seen, and I've been all over the place. I even built my own message board once.

    Can you also tell from some of the pixels and seeing quite a few shops in your time?
