Thanks For "Sphere Of Influence", Cryptic! (minor spoilers)

I don't post on the Forum much any more, but I wanted to stop by and say thank you to all concerned for the current "Sphere Of Influence" Featured Episode.

I can't speak for anyone else (and I won't), but I enjoyed this episode quite a bit. As usual, it wasn't just the large story elements which entertained me, but the usual array of small details as well.

Personally, I think the inclusion of Alidar Jarok's daughter, Tiaru, as the captain of the Romulan Republic's new flagship vessel was my favorite small touch.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who helped make "Sphere Of Influence" a reality. Your efforts are appreciated here.

Best,

KFS

Wasn't it originally supposed to be Alidar Jarok herself? Why was that changed?

anyone know all the accolades you get from this one? I managed to find two.
one called "Leap of Faith". and got another for getting all 10 information consoles before getting to the gate's controller before the ship.

P.S. I loved the mission. played it 3 times so far on my rommy sci officer.

Yep, Sphere of Influence was awesome. Even though I'm still trying to figure out if Koren is Worf's daughter or stepdaughter. I hope we'll see more of Tiaru soon. I guess she will turn up in the New Romulus patrol missions.

Alidar Jarok was a man who commited suicide in TNG after he had to find out that the invasion he was trying to warn the Federation about was a ruse to test his loyalty and lure the Enterprise into the Neutral Zone.

Of course. Mixed up the name with the female commander from Face of the Enemy. There were rumors/official statements (?) that she was gonna be the commander of the Romulan flagship.

My only minor nitpick with the story is I don't think this particular story was the right choice to use Dorn on.

Yes he was there for two gates, but I think Data would have been a better choice, with him having had direct interaction with Iconian tech. That and Data be more scientifically and technically inclined. I just don't see Worf as having the technical knowledge to be giving advice on it.

I'm sure its because it was they got Dorn and not Spiner, so like I said...minor nitpick.

That was Commander Toreth. Her name is currently used by the Epohh scientist on New Romulus.:D

That and the fact that Data and the Enterprise E are still missing in action. So until that whole barrel of monkeys is resolved, we won't see him in the game.

No they aren't. There's a short story written by STOs writer in Trek Magazine that has Data giving advice to Captain Shon before he took command of the Ent-F. We just don't know the ultimate fate of the Ent-E itself.

    OK, I'll post here.

I thoroughly enjoyed the mission. It even didn't feel like a grind doing it more than once to get different items. Good job :D

More stuff in this style would definitely be really cool. Within the (imo) limited non-combat mechanics of this game, the ground part even managed to be reminiscent of the old point and click Trek games 25th Anniversary, Judgement Rights and A Final Unity. If they could make a way for some the random exploration missions to have this kind of feel, I for one would be a very merry man.
    "So my fun is wrong?"

No. Your fun makes everyone else's fun wrong by default.

Yeah, the Enterprise-E is not missing in action. The Path to 2409 mentions that it was assigned to investigate a different, missing ship, and simply does not mention the outcome of that mission.

It certainly doesn't mean the Enterprise never returned.
You're right. The work here is very important.

I agree with the OP; it was an AMAZING story!

It had some wonderful surprises (my jaw dropped when I heard Dorn!!) and the story was simply fantastic! I was incredibly happy to see the proper solanagen based life-forms with the claws and all! Hope to see more of those as well as have them show up in the foundry soon. After the Elachi I thought that they were being lumped into the same race (despite looking totally different). I thought Schisms was an intriguing episode, so I'm very happy to see the rest of that story finally be told!!

It was the best episode yet if you ask me!! :D
Thanks for the expansion that had "as much content as the last"
    9 Episodes = 30+ episodes...?
