New AP 360 beam question

I'm assuming the Nukara Particle Converter's 10% accuracy bonus will apply to this new 360 AP beam turret like the Kinetic Cutting Beam, right?

Also: Running the new AP beam + Kinetic Cutting Beam is nuts in the aft weapons slot for my Fleet Avenger: I just saw 7 Beams fire forward towards the Crystalline Entity.

I use mag generators and it punched up the damage on that beam nicely. This is on a tac and i had a blast being tanky as heck

That I noticed on MK XII blue AP mag regulators... was curious if the Nukara console will also add extra accuracy.

After a few parses and comparisions, I still haven't found a good use for it, even when using it in combination with the core and the subsequent 10% set bonus.

On my beam cruiser it seems to be inferior to a normal beam array so far, and the 360? angle doesn't give too much of an advantage if you're broadsiding anyways. On a DHC-ship (battlecruiser, escort, Voq.) it seems to do lower damage than turrets, especially when the ship has CRF or CSV. I haven't tried it on any of my front-facing DBB ships yet, but considering I'm "saving" the BOs for the DBBs, I'm guessing it'll be the same result as on the escort.

To me, it currently it seems that the only real, worthwhile use is either to gain the 3-pc set-bonus on the advanced obelisk, or to mount it on a small craft...

I could possibly see the Onmi weapon on a Sci Torpedo boat if the person really wanted to utilize use Targeting subsystems. But honestly that would be a bit of a stretch.

I haven't tried it yet, though I really hope that this one opens up 360 degree beams of all damage types :)

So, is an all 360? beamboat actually viable?

I really hope Cryptic listens to us and rolls out weapons of this design for all damage types. My Yellowstone would love to have a good 360 degree phaser array. Although the fact they do even less damage than turrets is quite disappointing, why not put them on equal footing Cryptic? Oh that's right, you like escorts with DHC builds more don't you?

What, it's weaker than a turret? So what's the point?

Probably get a buff like the KCB did when they realize.

it is only good, if you go all antiproton DBB front and use both KCB and this 360 beam behind.
No use at all for broadsiders.

i'd love to see cryptic implementing 360 degree beams as a standard, even if they all had this [arc] mod to compensate for whatever.

The main use for this gun is target sub-systems. I am now able to use this one 360 array for my sci ship. I was able to remove the beam array in front of the ship and add more damage to the front. It is really nice on a sci ship.

It does not do much damage, but it does open up more room for different builds on ships with only 6 guns to work with. I don?t see much use for it any other place than on sci ships myself.

Or maybe because beams loose less DPS over distance so after 4km or more DBBs do more dps than DHCs?

Besides, the real reasons this weapon seems to exist at all are:

    1) opens up beam options to forward 4 or 5 DHC builds and

    2) makes folks want AP weapons that aren't horrifically expensive, any bets on the next lockbox including AP weapons?

Its a quite nice addition to my all AP boat. It doesnt buff as much as a regular AP beam but still more effective thatn say a torp in that spot. I get about 1k more DPS out of it. As it hits more often than a torp.

    I like it.

Also makes an ensign tac boff slot useful for something other than increased crith and critd.

    Or as well as.
