The only thing that truly bothers me about this Carrier is that it does not have a Frigate class of hanger support and will only have squishy fighters available to it.
They may be squishy, but they pack quite the punch. Especially the Elite versions. We had a player focus test over the weekend and the overall feedback was that the Swarmers are very competitive damage wise.

so how much "Lobi" will the elite swarmers cost us

LOL reminds me of back before f2p when it was stated we were going to lose a hangar wave. Yet it was stated due to the losing the wave that carrier pets would be compensated for the damage of that yet which that has not been done yet. So to say the pack quite the punch is misleading not just to the swarmers but carrier pets as a whole.
this was all shaping up great untill you decided to lob in the real version of the ship into the lobi store, i detest those lockboxes and to compleate the space set i would have to use those things, should have just kept it as just the free version , lobi version just spoilt the initial gesture of a free ship quite a bit if it was in the C-store, it wouldn't be as bad

Sooooo I take it no Yellowstone/Rdrone/B'Rothl support? If it is a multifaction carrier, this would have been a no brainer. Was hoping for a full on Sci carrier for my Rommie..ohh well. How about a 200 lobi store console that will allow us to equip faction frigates??? Pretty please?

Yeah I agree with you there.
Allow all pets on this carrier isn't very appealing.
With the carrier pet functionality fighters are not even remotely as good as frigates.
Why can't multi factional carriers be allowed to swap frigates. It is completely baffling this restriction
I suggest they change the description. A carrier that can not equip frigates is NOT a FULL carrier. I guess my rommie will be looking elsewhere for her new ship. yeah I know its free but it still sucks. Frigates or go home.
Much as I'm a fan of frigate pets, the swarmers are MEAN and pack Overload for their big hits instead of limited-against-shields-torpedoes. Given how many of the things you can throw out, how quickly they recharge, and how much worse you can make that with doffs, I can see that adding up to some pretty sick levels of damage, and wouldn't be at all surprised if they end up surpassing Scorpions. No complaints from me.

When I first saw the new weapon reward from the Sphere of Influence set, I was quite excited, as two of my characters run Antiproton setups.
And then I wondered:
where do you find the 3rd piece of the set (the console)?
Suffice it to say, I used many rude words when someone told me what I had to do to get the last piece of the set.
You must buy the Obelisk Carrier from the Lobi Store!
Does Cryptic seriously expect players to spend the amount of money required to obtain a Lobi ship when all you want is the console?
I don't know what the dollar cost in keys to get 800 lobi, but I expect it's a sizeable sum.
It cost me a fair bit just to get the Romulan Borg Science Officer and that's only 200 lobi, which is a quarter of the cost of that ship.
Not to mention I have to do it twice.
Also, it's not like Mk12 Purple Antiproton Mag Regulators are easy to obtain, they rarely drop and people sell them for exhorbitant amounts on exchange.
In addition, you have to craft the MK11 blue.
I'm getting the feeling Antiproton fans are being discriminated against here.
Also, Cryptic dropped the ball on the mission rewards.
The Rift Core is a Warp Core, therefore, it can't be equipped on a Romulan vessel.
They should have included a Singularity Rift Core as a reward, to allow for Romulan vessels to equip the set if you want it.

Pretty sure you can buy Mk XI Antiproton Mag regulators from the dilith store like every other tac console.
Actually, I craft the Mk11 blues.
It's the Mk12 purples that I am after though.
It probably doesn't make that much of a difference, but I'd wouldn't mind having some regardless.
You can get 500+ of that Lobi starting tomorrow Tilarta with the FE rerun if you do it everyday
Unfortunately, I've grown rather tired of replaying old content.
Especially the Featured episodes (because I've played that content a lot more then the rest of the game!).
Basically, STO is taking up so much of my time getting marks for Reputation and our Fleet that I'm just not in the mood to commit even more time to it outside of those tasks.
And besides, reading the blog, it looks like the console is irrevalent anyway.
It says the antiproton console can only be equipped on Obelisk carriers.
Well, that gets me off the hook.
But still, it's a poor decision to restrict this console to a specific ship.

Look, the free ship you get from the mission is a free ship, but its a good sci or eng ship and its got one hell of a base hull strength ( 56K) the swarmers do die but they also do pretty good.. I dont know about the lobi ship, but either lobi or free doesnt matter. It sucks for tac captains..

No Lobi, just rank up the Spire...

0.1 more shield mod
1 extra eng console
1 Lieutenant Universal boff slot in place of a Lieutenant Engineering
(imo i would use the lt universal as a engineer anyway)
and a console...
not much value there i wouldn't consider paying 800 lobi for that even if i had the lobi
Has anyone experimented with the beam overload doff and the swarmer fighters yet?

Asari Disciple Shotgun
Oh well, at least we know STO Devs like Mass Effect!
Show me where the rule is written where it says Tactical Captains must fly Escorts or Tactical base ships.
I'm a Tactical and I fly Engineering base ships.
The Lobi version does have a Lieutenant Universal instead of a Lieutenant Engineering if that helps you.
Assuming you can afford it......
