You freaking buffed CCE into NONSENSICAL LEVELS. It was either the last patch or the one the day before, as I haven't run CCE in the past 2 days. But MY GOD why the hell did you do this? It was 1-shotting EVERYONE through full shields and hull. REPEATEDLY. I had flashbacks to Hive onslaught trying to kill that crystalline entity just now!
And don't say "oh you need a sci ship to debuff it" because I was a sci ship, and I was running so many grav wells, sub nukes, tykens rifts, that it was ludicrous. Almost none of them had any effect anymore. I wasn't the only one, either! It got some reabsorbtion bonus but the tool tip said that only added 2%. The entire freaking team was being wiped out in its entirety in stage 3 (below 33%). It took us 2x as long to finish the last 33% as it did to GET IT TO 33%! It was also hauling TRIBBLE around the map! At the end it was MILES from the planet where it started. The planet was off in the distance. Normally it barely moves.
Why the bloody unholy hell would you do such a thing? This is not challenging. It's stupid. Making something instantly randomly kill you with no warning, no recourse, does not take SKILL. It takes fundamental lack of understanding how gameplay works.
The hauling through the map away from the planet and even to the edge of the mission map is nothing new. I have seen it happen at least three times.
For the buffing and healing issue. Did your fellow team mates eventually thought it wouldn't matter if they just let giant shards hitting their hull and letting them impact? If yes, you have witnessed sth. totally common player behaviour.
No, dude. I'm telling you this is new BS. Even on the worst map full of idiots ramming shards, the hits will only take half your hull. They were 1-shotting people nonstop through full hull and shields. This was NOT user error. This was Cryptic BS error.
Sounds like it's back to normal...the entity was nerfed for the event. Those that either never tried the before or got used to the event version probably had a rude awakening, like yourself
Neither Crystalline Catastrophe Elite or Hive Onslaught Elite are broken at the moment. Played CCE 4 times and HSE twice tonight.
Maybe you just warped into a zone where idiots had fed the CE 500 stacks of recrystallize and then warped out.
Otherwise (and in the case of the Hive) you are doing it wrong or just have an awful team.
Also, when you post threads of this caliber, I believe the unwritten forum rule is that you need to use more caps and at least one instance of the word "BOSTED"
So, Challenging= Broken now? Is this really what we have come to?
After reading this, I went and played CCE... Pug
Is it more challenging? I little maybe... but nothing to write home about. We finished the mission in 7 Minutes. I died once. (Sci Vesta... avg's abt 6-7k in damage by no means a DPS Jockey) Main debuffer Tachyon Beam I.
I regularily pug HSE... same result... I fail to see how challenging = broken. Sure we may lose an optional a couple times if Ricky Redshirt decides to agro all Tac Cubes at once, and fails to heal any injuries... then decides to take a unimatrix on his own...
Maybe Elite isn't for you then, OP. Can I just say, and I am not normally one to take this side... but if you can't handle the mission... then #suckitupbuttercup, and go back to Normal difficulty.
I swore I would never get like this... but I have reached my wits end with players crying NERF because they can't beat a mission on Elite....
Things have an Elite mode for a reason to make them CHALLENGING... and if you were truely an Elite player... you wouldn't be in the forums QQ'ing, you'd be figuring out what went wrong with the mission, and how you can improve.

So many Cryptic Yes-Men here. No it wasn't stacking 500+ like you say, and YES it was 1-shotting everyone in the arena. At any givben time at least 2 out of the 5 on my team were dead. As soon as it hit phase 3 the damage output was ludicrous.
Unstoppable is NOT challenging. Instant kills are NOT good level development. In fact it's TRIBBLE POOR level development.
Rezking has hit it square on the head with his satirical comment. Too bad it's too true to be funny.

Since several of us have played the mission since your original post... just doesn't seem to be a problem with the mission.
Played it 3 more times since my original response... won it each time... with none of your ludicrous damage seen... seemed perfectly normal. So again... problem doesn't seem to be with the mission.
Ah , it seems the CEE is still partially broken ... the thing i notived myself, and the OP confirms ....
THE CEE IS NOT DEBUFFED BY SUBNUC OR TYKENS , and it never was debuffed by gravwells ...
U need to hit it with Tachyon Pulse to debuff it properly .... that is currently the only trick i know to debuff the entity ... and playing it completely with 8 different toons in various classes & specs and ships .... tachyon is the only listed debuff that works on the entity.
Tykens stopped working on the CEE when they changed the science skills a while back.
So if u get 1hitkilled ... and u play it so often ... i wonder why u never noticed your tykens not debuffing the cee before .... i certainly always keep an eye on the buff counter .. and when it never lowers the number when i hit it with a tykens, but it lowers it by 10 every time i tachyon it.
I've played it a number of times, and I've noticed next to no difference in the amount of damage. If there is any problem, it's either something very rare, or because of your own setup. Was it just once, or did it happen every time you ran the mission?

The CE was never affected by Subnuke. I cannot confirm the Tyken's, though, as I use Energy Siphon on my science vessel, and that keeps it down fine.
I went and did Hive Elite and we got past the 1st wave no problem but when the space pickles arrived they started one shotting the whole team on the spawn point. We couldent even move or try to hit evasive before we exploded again. Not sure how to avoid that. Also we were aprox 20k from them and were getting hit. After about 3 min the entire team was on a 4 min cooldown. As soon as we got off cooldown players started trying to leave some were getting killed again even before they could warp out.
The problem here isn't with these mission's it's with the pve hero's that think there ships are the win all of sto til they get in elite stf's and realize they have no clue how to spec a ship or understand how to do damage in this game. My 1st point Sub-nuc is not a debuff it strips active buff's and sends them into an extended cool down 2nd tykens rift is not a debuff nor is grav well they both do holds and tyken's power drains which knocks subsystems offline 3rd Tyachon beam isn't a debuff it strips shields and shield power on one facing 4th the only debuff a sci captain has build in is sensor scan and is only as good as the points you put into it and how high you aux is when you use it. 5th the only way to debuff a target in game isn't even with sci skills it's with tac's skill being attack pattern beta and delta. So people learn what skills do before you start talking if you have no clue what your talking about.

Tykens and Tachyon beam are specifically mentioned in the Crystalline briefing among the abilities that remove the "Recrystallize" buff from the Entity, thus "debuff". Please understand the discussion before jumping in.
Why exactly is it that if someone posts anything that even impies that they found X content difficult, a bunch of PvE heroes have to pipe in to shout about how heroic they think they are, and because they're heroic the OP must be doing it wrong?
Or, even worse, imply that what the OP experienced didn't actually happen.
Just as people have already mentioned, there is a big difference between "difficult" and "broken". The OP said that the mission(s) in question was broken and unplayable.
Myself and the other people who replied (PVE Heroes- btw I like that. I'll maybe make a channel for excellent PVE players with that name) are saying that the queued events in question are difficult, but have been proven that they can be done. Thats the whole point of a "feedback " forum, yunno, to see how the players find content. Our opinion is just as valuable.

I haven't used tykens recently but it did work in the past. It is a bit inefficient due to the long cooldown and it needs a high sci slot. I found that tachyon 1 is better and can be used on any ship.
Also I might add that these abilities do not simply remove all stacks, they decrease them. I never bothered to find out how many stacks one pulse removes but if you join a game with a few hundred stacks on the entity it takes some time to get her back to normal.
If you have one tachyon 1 and keep that on cooldown you should be able to keep the stacks down just fine.
Further so far I see no problem/change in the entity. Maybe I will try a few more runs tonight and see if I encounter anything special.
While the visual of Tachyon is a continuous beam, it actually does 10 pulses ... and removes 1 recrystalize buff every pulse ....
For CEE there is noextra trick or benefit to enhance it, unlike for normal gameplay ... basic Tachyon 1 with zero in skills or generators does the same on the entity as a fully buffed Tachyon 3.
There is a special mechanic in the mission, that takes off 1 recrystalize buff for each tachyon pulse, regardloess of strengt, buff or aux that is on it ....
So 10 ticks per person activating tachyon on the Crystal Entity....
As for Tykens ... it DID work against the Entity, but since the patch that has "improved" the science skills Tyken & Gravity Well, this mission-specific mechanic seems to be broken on the Crystal Entity.
And if u have been in Crystal Events where the buff is over 200 ... u make sure as heck that u have at least 1 boff around with tachyon pulse for it when u go in ...... (max buffed i ever saw was an elite run with over 250, after 45minutes of trying to get the CE health below 50% i gave up on that one ...)

QFT... if the mission were unplayable, and unbeatable... then OP would have my full support (what little that means)... and I would be right there beside him asking for a correction... but that is not the case.
The mission is playable, and beatable.. is CCE challenging, yes... much more so than the normal version.
But that's the point. Elite is supposed to be challenging... I freely admit that I may have come down hard in my initial responses... but I am tired of seeing content difficulty lowered because someone feels that they are a PvE Hero, but can't beat a particular mission... therefore its broken and needs to be nerfed, because their ego can not accept that it might take a few tries (in some cases (take NWS for example... many many tries), and some revision to their tactics, or builds, to effectively manage/handle the elite content.
On Tyken's rift... I stopped using it sometime ago in CCE, maybe it stopped working... but, when it did work, it never cleared many of the stacking buffs... Tachyon Beam was much more effective, so I swithed to two copies (mainly because, similar to the experience that the OP had, I would be on teams where noone would debuff the thing, and it would build up 100+ stacks... and it would one shot us..).
However, rather than run to the forums crying broken... I reread the information in the intro, spoke to other players... adjusted my build, and tested to see what worked best for me. (As I said 2 copies of Tachyon). This allowed me to debuff the entity basically on my own. Since I don't use Tachyon beam in other content... I have a doff specifically trained for CCE that only gets swapped in when I am running that event.
I learned, and adapted... I improved, and now have absolutely no issue (before and after the OP's its broken rant) beating this mission. So honestly, I am not going to stroke the OP's ego by telling him he's right... I did come down hard (I admit that), but then again... he wasn't asking for tips or advice... he was just plain QQ'ing.
This whole thread would have gone differently if the OP had chosen a different tone for his original post.
Well I can say i have experienced elites that were just way above ordinary levels. Spheres insta-vaporizing team with 100% uptime to epte comes to mind. And when I experience back to back on multiple toons...I start jumping to conclusions. The weird part is that these "nightmare mode" instances seem to vanish the next day.
My suggestion OP, try it again today and see if it is still "ninja buffed"
Well. According to the op. He used grav wells (doesn't debuff), Tykens rift(bugged, so it doesn't debuff), and sub nuke (doesn't debuff well or at all for the entity).
With no way of knowing what the stack was at, we can only assume it was high and was not being debuffed
I did follow the convo the Orginal Op has no idea how to do elite stf's so his reaction I can't do it so it much be broken. That's a common theme among pve hero's it can't be me it must be the game because I have the best setup I made it to level 50 lol
